Selling public lands up and down the North Coast is in no way an effective solution to California's affordable housing crisis. And this latest Republican proposal is a breathtaking scheme that would open some of our most precious lands to corruption and authoritative overreach.
Under Republicans' budget, 16 million people will lose their health insurance — including kids, parents, seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities who rely on Medicaid. We're attacking these schemes at every angle to protect health care and stop this disastrous budget.
3 years ago, Supreme Court justices appointed by Donald Trump wrongly overturned Roe v. Wade and took away a woman’s right to make her own reproductive health care decisions. Today, House Democrats are introducing legislation to restore reproductive freedom across the country.
Right now, Congress was supposed to be getting answers from the Trump admin about their plans in Iran. But instead, they canceled the briefing – once again choosing chaos over clarity.
Trump failed to get congressional approval to use military force – risking American entanglement in a potentially disastrous war. My colleagues and I are demanding that the Trump admin share a clear plan with Congress and the American people, and keep American service members and civilians safe.
(3/3) Congressional Republicans must stop giving constitutional power to a lone want to be king. I oppose usurping congressional power, from domestic policymaking, budgetary spending, trade, and now to national security.
(2/3) There were diplomatic and strategic alternatives to address the threat posed by Iran’s nuclear ambitions, but they were ignored. What may seem ‘successful’ in the moment is more likely to lead to awful ramifications for our service members, national security, and our global credibility.

(1/3) Without consulting Congress or the American people, President Trump has unilaterally launched a military strike that risks dragging us into another war. This isn’t just dangerous—it’s a direct violation of the constitution and Congress’s authority to declare war.

Trump could have celebrated the Army's 250th anniversary with respect and recognition, but instead he threw a $45 million parade for his birthday. On top of firing thousands of veterans and cutting funds for military housing, Trump is once again showing fundamental disrespect.
In Republicans' Big Billionaire Tax Giveaway bill, they're slashing the food assistance and health care millions of Americans depend on every single day. On #TheFlipSide, House Democrats are doing everything we can to protect these programs.
The Trump administration already grossly overreacted by sending troops to a protest – and now Secretary Noem had Senator Padilla forcibly detained because he asked a question. These alarming displays of undemocratic, authoritarian conduct have gone too far.
As if House Republicans and the Trump admin aren't already doing enough favors for their Big Oil donors, they're now trying to open our coastline to offshore drilling. On #TheFlipSide, I'm fighting for our coastal communities here in Congress.
The House GOP budget already devastates millions of Americans. And now, Senate Republicans might make it even worse by slashing Medicare and compromising seniors' health care they've earned through a lifetime of hard work. We are standing firm against this big, ugly boondoggle.
Trump’s deployment of California National Guard soldiers to the LA streets is not only a reckless power grab - but it also endangers public safety. We demand that Trump rescind his unlawful deployment, reinstate local control, and respect Americans' constitutional rights.
To all protestors: please express yourselves in a peaceful, nonviolent manner and don’t give Trump what he wants!
(1/2) I condemn and oppose Trump’s illegal commandeering and deployment of the CA National Guard and his reported deployment of US Marines to Los Angeles. Trump is looking for excuses to deploy the military domestically, shut down political opposition, and cross the Rubicon into dictatorship.
