House Republicans' funding bill blocks Congress from having even just the option to end tariffs...
…at a time when Trump’s chaotic stream of pointless tariffs is tanking the economy.
Another reason I'm voting NO.
House Republicans’ budget writes Trump and Musk a blank check to keep up their illegal schemes – throwing veterans, seniors, and families under the bus in the process. Their bill ensures devastating cuts and bends to the whims of an out-of-control administration.
I’m voting NO.
Trump and Musk are slashing this already understaffed agency that all of us depend on, whether we realize it or not. The result? Emergency weather services will disappear overnight, air traffic safety will get even worse, and weather forecasts won’t be free.
Every day, I hear from more and more of my constituents about how Donald Trump’s illegal, extremist federal takeover is impacting them. Here are more of their stories ⬇️
Trump and Musk’s indiscriminate, cruel mass layoffs are literally going to cause the lights to go out for large swaths of America.
Their plans are being decided by AI... and now we’re left to put the toothpaste back in the tube.
“The contract delays and grant process uncertainty have collapsed on me, leaving me stressed and unsure what to do. I’m struggling to pay my mortgage, rent, and gas, and I’m worried about my children’s well-being.”
- Fire preparation worker, funding paused by Trump
Quotes from #CA02 constituents impacted by Trump policies (a 🧵)...
“As a third-generation dairy family business, we have directly benefited from these grants. But the funding freeze has now left us in a precarious position.”
- Local dairy producer, funding paused by Trump
I’ve heard from constituents up and down my district about how Donald Trump’s extremist agenda is already hurting them. Here are some of their stories…
ICYMI: Last night, I went live on Instagram with my DC roommates, @levin.house.gov and @repgregstanton.bsky.social, to discuss Trump’s Joint Address. Watch here ➡️
⏰ STARTING SOON ⏰
I’m going live on Instagram with my roommates to give you an update from DC! Tune in @rephuffman.
All Trump did in his address to Congress last night was spew lies and threats. Here are some of my thoughts and why I ended up walking out:
WTF is happening in DC? My roommates @repgregstanton.bsky.social, @levin.house.gov, and I will tell you tonight at 3:30pm PT/6:30pm ET on @housedemocrats.bsky.social #WTFShow. Tune in on Instagram Live @rephuffman!

Dozens of Members of the Ukraine Caucus are here to stand strong for democracy, freedom and international law against Trump, Putin and Musk.
Here’s the reality of what Trump’s tariffs are going to do:
🧑🧑🧒🧒 Hurt average American families
🚗 Increase the cost of gas, groceries, cars, & more
💰 Damage our economy
Trump betrays the American people once again, turning his back on the promise to lower everyday costs.
Average American families will shoulder the burden of Trump’s new tariffs, just like the last time he got us into a tariff war.

Tonight, we’re going to hear Trump brag endlessly about the abysmal things his admin has done—mass layoffs, federal funding freezes, and guts to clean energy and climate action—all stuff that is devastating for everyday Americans. I'll be attending the address tonight, but certainly not in support ➡️
Firing scientists and civil servants and slashing useful programs will cost the American people.
And I don’t just mean having to pay for things like weather forecasts if Trump privatizes NOAA. Dismantling the agency responsible for extreme weather alerts will literally cost people their lives.
Over 100 million Americans rely on Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid - and Speaker Johnson and House Republicans have been scheming to rip these benefits away.
I joined more than 200 House Democrats to demand they keep their hands off these vital programs.
From free, accurate forecasts to severe weather alerts to emergency information – Americans depend on NOAA every single day. And now Trump is purging thousands of scientists, experts, and career civil servants.
I'll keep fighting back in every possible way to stop this betrayal.
