Trump's health care cuts are skyrocketing insurance premiums, stripping health coverage from millions, and closing rural hospitals. I was glad to host a town hall this week and hear from people in our community. We won’t stop fighting to ensure every American has access to affordable healthcare.
New: Democrats asked a federal court to block Trump's 250-ft arch. Under law, Congress must approve certain monuments in DC. “This is a straightforward issue of who’s in charge,” @SenAngusKing said. They also mocked the "vanity" project. “This is not Pyongyang,” @RepHuffman told me.
Join me on Tuesday, March 10 in Santa Rosa for a health care town hall with Congressman Jared Huffman and State Senator Mike McGuire. We’ll discuss the rising cost of health care, efforts to lower costs for families, and the path forward for universal coverage.
Our troops are being told that war with Iran is part of a biblical prophecy for Armageddon that Trump was anointed by God to carry out. This is what happens when Christian Nationalism infiltrates the government. And people are dying because of it.
Standing up for our climate and environmental justice is one of my biggest priorities in Congress – everyone deserves clean air and water, affordable clean energy, and healthy public lands. I'm honored I got 100% on this year's @lcv.org Scorecard, and I’ll keep working to earn one every year!
It is another alarming abuse of power that Congress must confront, and unfortunately another blow to America’s credibility and goodwill on the global stage, which Trump has made it virtually impossible for any nation to negotiate and pursue diplomacy with the United States.
The best I can say about Trump’s SOTU speech last night is that it probably does reflect the actual state of our union: a disaster. We have an unhinged madman in the presidency and a Republican Congress that refuses to question or check him. You deserve better.
We’re gearing up to hear a lot of lies in Trump’s State of the Union, so here’s the truth: Donald Trump has failed the American people. The economy is tanking, health care is unaffordable, ICE is terrorizing communities, our democracy is under siege – and you deserve better.
Republicans are doubling down on their extreme SAVE Act with an even crazier bill to hand over voters’ personal data to Kristi Noem and ICE. They’re trying to rig the system with this federal takeover of state and local elections. Here’s what I’m doing on #TheFlipSide, to protect your rights.
Our taxpayer dollars should be helping people in our communities afford groceries and health care, not funding terror in our streets. This violence cannot be justified, and it's long past time that Trump reins in ICE and establishes a fair, humane immigration system.
Trump’s stupid, useless tariffs are costing everyday Americans $1,000 a year. Republicans need to work with Democrats to lower the cost of living instead of going along with every scam Trump concocts for his billionaire buddies.
We haven't seen this many layoffs since 2009, and Trump is making things worse. Families are struggling to afford food and health care, and that should be our focus right now – not building new ballrooms and ignoring what the American people need.
