Trump's denialist policies are completely derailing progress.
Climate change is not a hoax or political agenda. It's a science-backed crisis that threatens our environment, future generations, and everything in between – and I’m going to keep working to stop it.
Thanks to Trump's extreme policies and tariffs, inflation has become a runaway train, and there are no signs it's slowing down. From groceries to housing, the affordability crisis is out of control – and Republicans are pushing bills to make things even harder.
The American people deserve better.
Trump just made the biggest economic self-sabotage in U.S. history.
American workers and families deserve a livable planet and the good-paying jobs that come with climate action, not a president who sells out their future to billionaire polluters.
After months of fighting Trump and Speaker Johnson, House Democrats succeeded in passing a bill to lower costs for millions of Americans whose premiums are skyrocketing.
This is HUGE. Now, the Senate just needs to finish the job.
Businesses, homes, and roads in our district were completely inundated by recent floods. This week, I visited some of the hardest hit sites in San Rafael and up Highway 101 to see the damage up close. We’re in this together, and I’ll keep working with local officials to help our community recover.
Living in America is already expensive enough, and people like my constituent Corrie cannot afford higher health care premiums.
House Democrats have been fighting for months to save the Affordable Care Act tax credits, and today we're finally voting to make that happen.
It's an honor and a privilege to represent the North Coast in Congress. 2026 is already off to the races – but I’d like to share a look back at what we accomplished last year. Check out our 2025 wrap-up here:
It's been a year since wildfires devastated Los Angeles. I've seen firsthand how these disasters ravage our communities and how important federal support is as we rebuild.
We need to invest in preventing and minimizing wildfires—not denying climate change and defunding research and mitigation work.
(2/2) I am committed to remembering the truth, preventing anything similar ever again, and strengthening our democracy for future generations.
(1/2) Five years ago, Trump incited a violent insurrection on our Capitol and on our democracy. Law enforcement bravely fought them off, and multiple officers lost their lives.
But since then, Republicans have whitewashed what happened, and Trump even pardoned the violent rioters.
Thank you to all the brave first responders who jumped into action to put out the Arcata fires. Your quick response kept this from being even worse.
My team and I will do everything we can to help our community rebuild.

What if you couldn't stop a pipeline, even after proving it would poison your water?
Republicans named this bill the "SPEED Act" and they are absolutely counting on you not reading it.
Here's what they’re not telling you (a 🧵)

House Republicans used their final day to pass handouts to polluters, foreign mining companies, and the NRA.
Everyone else? A lump of coal.
Shutting down research centers like the National Center for Oceanic Research robs Americans of critical weather data we need to stay safe. Climate change is fueling extreme weather events and natural disasters.
Trump’s refusal to accept that and his relentless attacks on science will cost lives.
We're just days away from the Republican health care cliff. Their solution? Pushing a fake plan that raises costs, kicks millions off their coverage, and takes away women's freedom to make their own health care decisions.
I will not vote for something that makes people’s lives worse.
As if raising costs wasn’t enough, the GOP’s “health care” bills will strip insurance coverage for safe, legal abortions and jail parents of transgender young people who make health care decisions for their child.
These extremist bills are robbing Americans of their freedoms.
Trump and Republicans stripped health care from millions with their Big, Ugly Bill – and now they’re pushing a “plan” that will force people to pay even more for less coverage.
We only need a few Republicans to break from their sycophantic extremism and vote with us to protect health care.
Republicans are letting health care tax credits expire at the end of the month, which will spell disaster for millions of Americans. Democrats are fighting tooth and nail to save affordable health care, but folks like my constituent Diane already have to brace for impact:
I have some good news from DC: Last night, we passed the Secure Rural Schools Reauthorization Act! The funds from this are a lifeline to keep schools open, teachers supported, and basic public services running.
