From rising food prices to cuts to Medicaid, SNAP & HUD, @cityofbroomfield & @broomfieldcoc tackle these challenges daily. Grateful for their work supporting families. I’ll always fight for their priorities, even as Trump tries to dismantle vital programs.
Trump is throwing our service members under the bus all to fuel his revenge tour against anyone who disagrees with him. We love our mail-in voting system here in Colorado. Let me be clear: we don’t bend the knee to Trump. That’s not who we are or what we do in Colorado. https://bit.ly/46UVoTx
Coloradans are being squeezed by rising costs from Trump’s disastrous policies, and this bill fails to meet families’ needs. Now, with Trump’s Big Ugly Bill looming, Republicans’ chaos once again threatens a shutdown. I’m deeply disappointed.
The House passed legislation that would keep the government open through Nov. 21 to avert an October shutdown and buy more time for bipartisan negotiations over full-year spending bills. It’s expected to stall in the Senate.
Our state stands to lose $500M from Trump’s tariff tirade. Big corporations may weather it, but small businesses will pay the price. We just need a handful of Republicans to join us in signing our discharge petition to force a vote & hold him accountable. https://bit.ly/482NeL1
My mom struggled with opioid addiction that led to heroin & fentanyl. She’s one of the lucky ones who got care to rebuild her life. Too many families aren’t as fortunate. That’s why I introduced bipartisan legislation creating Fentanyl Prevention & Awareness Day. https://bit.ly/3KaLSng
Stopping & arresting people based on how they look isn’t safety — it’s racist, plain & simple. SCOTUS green-lighting Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda is despicable. I’m joining colleagues in demanding answers from Secretary Noem.
Trump & Republicans are learning what we already knew—the Big Ugly Bill is bad for Americans & deeply unpopular. Rebranding won’t change that. Trump might be a conman, but he can’t con his way out of the pain & suffering families will face.
Naloxone saves lives & knowing how to use it can mean everything. My mom wouldn't be alive today without this overdose reversal drug. Grateful to join the Bipartisan Mental Health & Substance Use Disorder Task Force’s Naloxone Training to help equip staff to reverse an overdose.
An 80-year-old was conned out of $6,700 on a dating app. This type of fraud is shameful & preventable. That’s why I introduced legislation to hold platforms accountable & require safeguards. No one should lose their savings because companies refuse to act.
We’ve seen a reduction in overdose deaths in CO including a 35% drop in fentanyl deaths last year. But Trump’s OBBB threatens that progress. I’m working on a bill to ensure CO & 37 other states can keep using Medicaid to cover substance use treatment—it’s medical care." https://dpo.st/4mjGSKq
Not having a reliable supply of diapers impacts kids’ health & parents’ ability to work—yet 1 in 2 families struggle to pay. I passed CO’s 1st state funding for diaper banks & now we’re taking it nationwide. Honored to join @diapernetwork.bsky.social ahead of #DiaperNeedAwarenessWeek
Today we remember the lives lost on 9/11 and how our nation was forever changed. We honor the nearly 3,000 victims & first responders who showed unimaginable courage, and carry forward the lessons of unity, compassion & community that reflect the American spirit.
It's becoming too common for people to be violently targeted because of who they are or what they believe. Let me clear - ANY political violence is completely unacceptable. We have to unequivocally denounce it & put a stop to it immediately.
Shocked & heartbroken to see there is an ongoing incident involving an active assailant at Evergreen High School. I'm hopeful law enforcement is able to intervene & ensure all kids come home safe. We are in communication with local law officials & will be there to support the Evergreen community.
"Thoughts & prayers won’t end gun violence. As a mom, I can’t fathom the heartbreak of parents who’ll never see their kids again. I’m demanding @SpeakerJohnson act so our kids can grow up safe in schools, theaters & public spaces.
House Republicans just passed one of the most anti-environmental bills in U.S. history. From cutting the EV tax credit to gutting disaster relief & slashing jobs, it threatens our health, economy & Colorado families. These 69 provisions are devastating.
As a mom, I’m always thinking about the future of our country & democracy. Trump threatens our freedoms—attacking voting, institutions & the press. But people like those in @lwvus.bsky.social give me hope. Thank you for inviting me to speak—keep showing up & speaking out.
Today is the second annual 988 Suicide & Crisis Hotline Day -- a reminder that help is always just a call or message away. If you or someone you love is struggling, please call or text 988 anytime. Just know - you are never alone. And you never have to face a mental health crisis by yourself.
