Today marks one year since the deadly crash at DCA that took 67 lives. We remember those we lost, stand with their loved ones, and continue the work to strengthen aviation safety so tragedies like this never happen again.
I loved spending time at the Humane Society of West Michigan today and meeting the incredible staff and volunteers who care for our community’s animals. From rescues to adoptions, their work makes a real difference every day. And yes, I made a new furry friend along the way.
Honored to receive the CWA People’s Champion Award from Communications Workers of America Local 4034. I am grateful for their partnership and proud to stand with workers across West Michigan as we fight for fair wages, strong unions, and safe, good-paying jobs.
If a pilot is flying in the same sky, they should follow the same safety rules. My Fatigued Pilot Protection Act makes sure cargo pilots get the same rest protections as passenger pilots. Safety shouldn’t depend on who’s on the plane.

That’s why I’m proud to co-lead the bipartisan FROST Act, which passed the House last September and helps airports cover de-icing expenses so travelers can get where they’re going safely and on time.
