On this Good Friday, we take a moment to reflect on the significance of sacrifice and love. It's a day to renew our faith and embrace the hope that comes with new beginnings. Wishing everyone who celebrates a meaningful day filled with peace and reflection.
My heart goes out to everyone affected by the shooting at FSU. I’m praying for everyone’s safety as we continue to monitor the active threat. Our places of learning should never be the target of violence—this should not be the reality on our campuses. abcnews.go.com/US/active-sh...

Black women are 3.5 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than other racial groups. This #BlackMaternalHealthWeek, I’m proud to stand with the Congressional Black Caucus to work to end these disparities and ensure Black mothers and children can thrive.
Wishing a joyful and meaningful Passover to everyone celebrating. As families gather to share the story of the Exodus, may we draw strength from the enduring resilience and spirit of the Jewish people. Chag Pesach Sameach!
As Water Week wraps up, I'm proud to serve as the top Democrat on the Water Resources Subcommittee and represent South Florida’s beaches. Water is vital to our health, environment, and economy—so let’s recommit to conservation, coastal protection, and a sustainable future.
Commissioner Manolo Reyes was a true public servant who dedicated his life to serving our community. Every time I saw him, he brought warmth to every person he met and lifted everyone’s spirits. He will be deeply missed, and my prayers are with his family during this time.

Reports of overcrowding and inhumane conditions at the Krome Detention Facility are unacceptable. As part of Congress’s oversight power, I’m requesting a visit to the facility to ensure a transparent immigration system and that detainees aren’t being held in inhumane conditions.
Happy Everglades Day, South Florida! 🍃 The Everglades is the backbone of our community, providing clean water and serving as a natural treasure. We must continue to fight for its protection today and every day, ensuring its preservation for future generations.
Happy Miami Beach Pride! 🏳️‍🌈 Today and everyday is a time to celebrate the strength and resiliency of the LGBTQI+ community. We must all work towards a more equal, just and loving future.
I met with the Partnership of Miami today to discuss ways to grow Miami-Dade’s transit infrastructure Folks should have access to reliable and quality public transit instead of just being stuck in traffic. I’m working to ensure we can expand transit across Miami-Dade.
