Do you remember seeing Elon Musk on the ballot last November? I don’t! Yet, Republicans are handing the keys to government to “President” Elon Musk, who is now vowing to wreak havoc and slash vital funding Americans rely on. We can’t let this stand.
I am so happy to hear about the release of multiple Israeli hostages today, especially American hostage Keith Siegel, whom I heard so much about from his wife and former hostage, Aviva Siegel. Welcome home Keith.🎗️ #BringThemHomeNow
Black history is American history, from Miami's founding, where nearly a third of its signatories were Black, to the Civil Rights movement. America was built by Black people, and this #BlackHistoryMonth, we celebrate Black Americans contributions to all facets of life.
It’s on🏈: FAMU vs. Howard at the Orange Blossom Classic! I was proud of join members of the community to set the stage for the big game on Labor Day weekend! It’s bound to be a day to remember.
Instead, he is lambasting armed services personnel, pilots and air traffic controllers for a crash that is unprecedented and is still under investigation. The response from the White House lacks leadership; it’s abysmal and sickening.
Charters and private schools cherry-pick, and public schools have to educate everyone—even with less funding. This decision is wrong, it is unfair, and it’s an insane ploy to destroy public education and leave it in shambles.
My heart goes out to the victims and everyone impacted by the aircraft collision near the DCA airport. It’s heartbreaking news. I will continue to monitor the incident and am grateful to all the first responders responding to the situation.
Many of us have questions about the execution of this funding freeze, but Democrats are determined to get answers and ensure the funding that's been secured by law is delivered. Republicans are trying to undermine the Constitution and harm working families—and that cannot stand.
I'm thinking about the federal funding for Miami-Dade County transit, Head Start programs for low-income children, Pell Grants for students to pay for classes, community health centers for seniors, and so much more.
Let’s be clear: this act is illegal and will only raise costs for everyday families. Congress has authorized these funds, and they must be delivered. Cutting funding for housing, healthcare, and farmers will only raise rent, skyrocket medical bills, and hike grocery prices.
🧵Republicans are orchestrating a reckless and unlawful scheme to choke off virtually all federal funding from basic services. Whether that funding is going to our farmers, our transit system, our students, our community health centers, or our non-profits, it’s all on hold.
Today, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we mourn and remember the six million Jews and countless others murdered in the Holocaust. May we unite to fight antisemitism, hatred, and intolerance, ensuring such atrocities are never repeated.
