Moved to see the tight-knit North Smithfield community and VFW leaders gather at the old Memorial Town Building to honor our history and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.
☔️ Rain couldn’t stop 13-year-old Julia Paul’s 10th annual lemonade stand in North Smithfield! Every year, Julia raises money for local food pantries to help Rhode Islanders facing food insecurity. She’s making a real difference in our community and certainly has a bright future ahead!☀️
Started Memorial Day at the Victory Gate Ceremony in Barrington. With veterans, families of the fallen, and community members, we heard the names of local service members who gave their lives for our freedom. We are forever grateful for their service.
On #MemorialDay, we pause to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice is immeasurable, their courage enduring, and their legacy lives on in the freedoms we carry forward. We must never forget them.
Happy 100th Birthday to Mrs. Alice Gattinella!🎉 From Central Falls to East Providence, she’s long been active in the community, raising 5 kids, being a grand & great-grandma, teaching CCD, and golfing & bowling. What a life! Loved celebrating Mrs. G with her loved ones.
Ahead of Memorial Day, I joined Veterans and community members in Warren to lay a wreath to honor the four local service members who lost their lives in the Vietnam War. Thank you to Judy Fardig, Dave McCarthy, and the Warren Veterans Committee for organizing this meaningful tribute.
Portuguese feast season is off to a great start with the Holy Ghost Beneficial Brotherhood of RI.🇵🇹 Glad to see East Providence celebrate with food, music, and community. Grateful for the warm welcome and the delicious Portuguese hot dog and cacoila!
Joined the moving dedication of the Christine Conrad Lane Memorial Dog Park. Christine, who was tragically lost in the Flight 5342 crash with her son Spencer, loved dogs & volunteered at Rhode Home Rescue. Thanks to Doug Lane, the Barrington community & volunteers for their work.
Honored our fallen heroes at the 10th Annual Operation Stand Down RI Boots on the Ground Ceremony. Each of the 7,000+ combat boots at Fort Adams represents a service member killed in the Global War on Terror. I truly appreciate the volunteers & leaders who help us remember the ultimate sacrifice.
Grateful for the opportunity to visit with the East Providence Veterans Advisory Committee to discuss supporting our veterans. From VA casework to federal action, we have a responsibility to advocate for those who served.
Brown University’s Costs of War & Climate Solutions Lab tabulated the high costs of Trump’s illegal Iran war. ⛽ +$190B per household in gas 💸 $45B in fuel overall Higher transport costs hike grocery prices, like tomatoes up 40%. Read more on how you’re footing the bill ⤵️
📣 @seiu.org members are saying it loud and clear: We need health care, not hate! As the son of a proud SEIU member, I’m fighting alongside them to support health care workers, protect Medicaid, and make sure working people can afford care. We’ve got their backs!
👀Revealed a theft from the American people on the House Floor… It’s time to end the war, stop the chaos, and do something to lower costs for the American people.
In the Ocean State, waterfront industries like fishing & tourism help our communities flourish. That’s why I’m supporting @pingree.house.gov’s Keep America's Waterfronts Working Act to: 🦺Protect jobs 🏗️Strengthen infrastructure 🏖️Improve public access 🌊Support our Blue Economy
Met with Christina Whatmough from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to hear about caring for a loved one with this devastating disease. During Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month and every month, I’ll keep fighting to lower health care costs and support lifesaving research.
. @housedemocrats.bsky.social and @democrats.senate.gov are standing together to end the war, stop the chaos, and lower costs. No more taxpayer money for: 🪩 Trump’s gilded ballroom 🚨 ICE and Border Patrol cruelty 🦹‍♂️Trump’s convicted crony slush fund! You deserve better.
Spoke with Melissa from Seven Hills RI about fighting the Big, Ugly Law’s Medicaid cuts that will impact Rhode Islanders living with disabilities. I’ll keep fighting to fund services for our neighbors and the direct service professionals who care for them.
