During today’s hearing, I talked about the need for Democrats and Republicans to put partisanship aside to protect our nation and our influence around the world.

The Global Engagement Center at the State Department was formed to counter the messaging and diminish the influence of international terrorist organizations.
The termination of this center creates a void in combatting disinformation and propaganda that will only worsen with the evolution of AI.
This is the 21st century. It should be common sense to let parents vote remotely after the birth of their child.
But Speaker Johnson is trying to block this bipartisan and pro-family effort from @pettersen.house.gov.
I’m going to the House floor now to support this effort.
Excited to see Major League Baseball finally come to West Sacramento tonight as the A’s take on the Cubs for their home opener!
Let’s show the world that Sacramento is a great sports city.
Play ball! ⚾️
We know that President Trump does not care about the Constitution.
We must take his threat of a third term seriously.
Democrats and Republicans must come together, hold him to the Constitution and make sure this doesn’t happen.
As we reflect on his life and legacy, let’s recommit to the principles he championed: fairness, justice and opportunity for all.
His leadership in the fight for civil rights and better working conditions continues to inspire people across our nation.
¡Sí se puede!
Happy César Chávez Day, Sacramento County!
Today, we honor and celebrate César Chávez— a tireless advocate for the dignity and rights of workers.
I’m committed to doing everything I can in Congress to stop these cuts, and work with community leaders to protect our public schools and stand up for students and families across Sacramento County.
I joined Sacramento County Superintendent of Schools Dave Gordon today to address the sweeping impacts of the Trump Administration’s devastating proposed cuts in federal funding to Sacramento-area schools.

The USPS must swiftly implement the Inspector General's recommendations to restore public trust and ensure that Sacramento County residents have the secure and reliable mail services they deserve.
I called for the U.S. Postal Service Inspector General to conduct an audit on mail theft in Sacramento County.
The results of the audit are in and they are completely unacceptable.
The number of keys that are missing that are likely being used to break into mailboxes is unacceptable.
We are going to hold the Postal Service accountable to fix this problem.

I’ve heard from a ton of Sacramento County residents about the increase in mail theft and cluster mailbox break-ins in our community.
Last year, my office asked for an U.S. Postal Service Inspector General audit and we just got that audit back.
I urge the Administration to not go forward with this harmful decision.
Eliminating funding will only increase the spread of curable diseases and cause preventable deaths around the world— and make us more vulnerable at home.
Gavi has vaccinated over a billion children in developing nations since 2000 and helped prevent more than 18 million child deaths.
This organization has long enjoyed bipartisan support, including during the first Trump administration. This should not be a partisan issue.
Investing in vaccination efforts abroad keeps deadly diseases from reaching our shores.
Americans are safer and healthier due to these investments.
That’s why I’m deeply concerned by the Trump administration’s intent to eliminate funding for Gavi.

What was shared by Pete Hegseth in the Signal group chat is classified information by any definition.
His failure to take accountability continues to diminish his credibility.
It is time for Secretary Hegseth to do the honorable thing and resign.
Secretary Hegseth breached security protocols by sharing classified information in a Signal group chat.
He has refused to take accountability for his actions.
I am calling on him to resign.
Today at @houseforeign.bsky.social, we heard directly from USAID workers laid off by Elon Musk and Donald Trump.
Without the vital aid provided by USAID, people are going to die.
We need to tell these stories.
I will continue to speak out and fight to save lives around the world.
🚨 My office has now recovered over $20 MILLION in owed benefits for #SacramentoCounty taxpayers.
