It’s tax day… don’t forget that Trump & Republicans cut health care, student loans, & basic food assistance to give billionaires & corporations massive tax breaks… Not to mention taxpayers are footing the bill for Trump’s war in Iran, costing us $1 BILLION a day.
If Pam Bondi continues to evade the law and refuse to testify like she did today, then my colleagues and I will move forward with contempt proceedings.   Bondi will be held accountable and Oversight Democrats will reveal the truth about the Epstein Files and the Trump coverup.
My legislation to name the Collinwood Post Office after Cleveland WWII hero Tech Sergeant Alma Minter of the Six Triple Eight passed the House!   The bill now goes to the Senate - where I hope they join us in giving Sergeant Minter her flowers so that her name & her legacy are remembered & revered.
Instead of making sure our farmers can feed our nation, Sec. Rollins would rather lie about the struggles they face.   She may lie, but the numbers don't, & the truth is because of Trump's war in Iran, 70% of farmers can't afford the fertilizer they need to grow crops. thehill.com/business/580...
On Yom HaShoah, we pause to remember the millions of Jewish lives lost during the Holocaust. We must recommit ourselves to confronting antisemitism with urgency and resolve because Never Again is our responsibility.
Still more we could do … - Fund Tuition-Free Community College programs for 12 years - Build a high-speed rail system - Provide universal high-speed internet for 2 years Taxpayer dollars should help the American people, not pay for Trump’s reckless wars.
Wait! There’s still more investments back home that we could make - End the maternal health crisis by funding preventative care, post-partum care, and further research - Fix all 220,000 bridges in need of repair nationwide - Fund Early Childhood development education programs for 10 years
The list of good we could do with that money instead of spending $1 billion a day in Iran goes on and on… - Fund expanded veterans’ VA medical care - Increase the Child Tax Credit for 2 years - Build affordable housing
Trump wants an extra $350 billion for more wars and fat defense contracts for his family:  Here's what we could do with $350 billion to actually help people.   🧵 - Fund ACA tax credits for 10 years - Expand Medicaid to cover millions of Americans - Increase SNAP food benefits
I'm all for Melania Trump calling for a public hearing for Epstein survivors. Especially since her husband's acting AG Todd Blanche is actively trying to kill the investigation and Pam Bondi is trying to get out of testifying.
BREAKING: First Lady Melania Trump urges Congress to provide Epstein victims with public hearing, saying "give these victims their opportunity to testify under oath, in front of Congress."
Democrats just went to the House floor to advance legislation to stop Trump's war with Iran. Republicans blocked it. The American People want a permanent end to this mad war.    The Republican blockade on our democracy continues. But we won't stop fighting.
Whether Republicans admit it or not, you can't call for a ceasefire unless you are at war.  But a ceasefire isn't enough. It’s time for Republicans to stop shielding this madman. Congress must reconvene to put a permanent end Trump’s reckless and costly war.
This isn't something you can opt-out of.   Pam Bondi is trying to weasel out of accountability by refusing to testify about the Epstein files.   Whether she's Attorney General or not, she will come before the Oversight Committee to reveal the truth about this White House cover-up.
