However, our military forces do not belong to the President to use on a whim, or because he doesn’t agree with the pace of negotiations. This is not about defending the nation. This is the President being reckless. Donald Trump’s actions have put military forces at risk and made us less safe.
The President cannot circumvent the Constitution and wage war without the approval of Congress. Iran is a bad actor and oppressive state that has suppressed its people and supported terrorism around the world.
Thanks to the Valley County Water District for talking about efficient water service delivery to cities and protecting waterways, including the Main San Gabriel Groundwater Basin, the key water source in CA-31. I’m grateful for their work preserving high water quality access.

The racial profiling, harassment, and threats to our community must end. I led the LA delegation in a letter to Kristi Noem to demand the immediate suspension of warrantless stops and racial profiling based detentions.
Trump lie: “Gas prices are below $2.30 a gallon in most states, and in some places, $1.99 a gallon.” The truth: No state had an average gas price today below $2.37 per gallon.
Trump lie: “The SAVE Act will protect American election integrity.” The truth: The SAVE Act will prevent over 21 million citizens from voting and make voting disproportionately for women and rural voters.
Trump lie: “Our prices are coming down tremendously from the highest prices in the history of our country.” The truth: That's bullshit. Trump should know, the price of his McDonalds order is up 27%. Numbers don't lie.
Trump lie: “The first duty of American elected officials is to protect American citizens and not protect illegal immigrants.” The truth: The first duty of American elected officials is to defend and protect the Constitution of the United States.
Trump lie: “Democrats were letting non-citizens vote in our elections.” The truth: Non-citizen voting is already illegal and incredibly rare. You’re more likely to be struck by lightning on your way to the polls than to cast a ballot alongside a non-citizen.
Trump lie: “Immigrants are costing the American taxpayers more money." The truth: Immigrants generated about $1.7 trillion in economic activity in 2023 and paid roughly $652 billion in local, state, and federal taxes.
Trump lie: “The One Big Beautiful Bill is lowering costs for the American people." The truth: 22 million people are facing drastic increases to their healthcare costs, thanks to Trump and Republicans’ ACA tax credit cancellation.
Tonight, I’ll be listening to Trump do the only thing he knows how to do: lie to the American people. I’ll be fact-checking his lies live here on Twitter and Bluesky. Follow along, it’s gonna be a long night.
It was a pleasure to sit down with Mayors and City Managers across the district to hear updates on their city operations and policy ideas to better serve the community. Our city leaders are critical for promoting public safety and facilitating everyday services.
Special thanks to our CA-31 School Board Members and Superintendents who joined me for a roundtable discussion on school performance, teacher needs, and supporting student success.
