Our veterans risked their lives to protect our freedoms and keep our country safe, and they deserve full access to the benefits they’ve earned. Unfortunately, our veterans who serve less than 20 years and medically retire don't receive any retirement pay.
I always enjoy connecting with the leaders who make our community so special. This week, I met with Mayor Pro Temp Jean Ayala and City Clerk Christopher Saenz representing the city of Baldwin Park. I discussed my commitment to funding important public safety measures and protecting voting rights.
Instead of resolving this unnecessary holdup threatening DACA recipients’ immigration and employment status, Republicans left our hardworking community members behind.
Today, I celebrated a major victory for the Charter Oak High School Cheer and STUNT team on the House floor. Congratulations on making history by becoming the first San Gabriel Valley school to win a CIF Southern Section STUNT cheer championship!
Trump's chaotic use of tariffs and his illegal war on Iran aren't just sending costs sky-high, they're hurting American small businesses. As a proud member of the House Small Business Committee, I’m committed to fighting for policies that expand and empower our small businesses, not harm them.
Immigrants are the heart of our nation. They shape our history, influence our culture, and strengthen our society. During Immigrant Heritage Month, I’m proud to honor and uplift the courage and dedication our immigrant communities in CA-31 demonstrate each and every day.
Save the date! My office is hosting a passport fair on Saturday, June 27th in West Covina, CA. My team will be available to assist with passport applications, renewals, and more. Stay tuned for more details.
Yesterday, I joined my colleagues to correct bigoted attempts to rename bases after confederate secessionists. Instead of improving military quality of life, Republicans would rather spend their time glorifying the legacies of people who took up arms against the United States.
Last night, I fought hard and succeeded in securing 29 legislative priorities—totaling over $369 million in authorized funding—to strengthen our national security and provide necessary resources for our servicemembers and their families.
It’s time for us all to come together to ensure no future generation has to know the tragedy and trauma of losing a loved one to something as preventable as gun violence.
Today, I recognize National Gun Violence Awareness Day and honor the thousands of Americans who lost their lives to senseless gun violence. I lost my grandfather to gun violence and I honor his memory by fighting everyday for common sense gun laws and safer communities free of devastating violence.
Recruiting didn’t go up because we changed the Department of Defense to the Department of War. It went up because we started investing in recruiting again, plain and simple.

When I was at the Pentagon as the Undersecretary of Personnel and Readiness, every promotion for every general and flag officer in the U.S. military came across my desk. Never did we ever talk about quotas for race or gender. Everything that the military does has been based on merit.
The Trump battleship isn’t what the Navy wants or needs. It’s another fool’s gold vanity project that Trump can stick his name on. This is a waste of taxpayer money that helps no one.
