Relieved shipment of critical defensive weapons to Ukraine has been renewed—including lifesaving air defensive systems. There must be repercussions for murderous dictator Putin's aggression using every tool at our disposal to help end this war. GOP, a swift vote on Russia Sanctions is long past due.
Joined the Port Clinton community for the Grand Reopening of the Ida Rupp Public Library. Generations to come will greatly benefit from the thoughtful renovations to this place that will give so many a chance to share stories, use their imagination, let ideas take root, and know they belong.
The GOP plans to slash $2.1 Billion from the National Science Foundation. It won’t just hurt labs—it hurts students, startups, and the future economy. From clean energy to advanced manufacturing, these are jobs of tomorrow. These cuts hand American jobs and opportunity to our foreign competitors.
Enjoyed visiting the Lucas County Fair to support The Helping Haul Food Drive and Lucas County 4-H. Bravo to all involved in collecting donations of goods for those in need. Each year I am amazed at the students commitment to raise animals, and strengthen programs for generations of farmers to come.
The Trump Administration has put Millions of dollars in jeopardy meant for law enforcement, while at the same time Homeland Security agents have been diverted from targeting human smugglers and drug traffickers. It's not surprising to see they've chosen secrecy over accountability for the elites.

When I was first elected there were only 2 nesting Bald Eagles left on Lake Erie—now thanks to our conservation efforts there are HUNDREDS.

Walbridge Park is the last place my mom & I were able to have an outing together as she battled Alzheimer's disease, after a trip to the world-class Toledo Zoo. I miss her terribly today & think about how she used to lift me to a window of our house when I was little so I could see the fireworks.
Enjoyed the annual #4thofJuly Party at Walbridge Park. Great tasting various summer pies, talking with service members, listening to the Jazz band, and spending time with families from across our community. Wishing all a happy and safe holiday weekend!

Once again we are here in the dead of night, to debate and vote on Republicans’ bill that takes food and health care from those who need them to shower tax cuts on billionaires.
Given a short time to talk, I used it to cast our moral choice in terms my Republican colleagues in the room would hear.
