The Golden Age of America?
Since the President took office, families are paying up to $400 more for groceries, utility bills are up 13%, and health care premiums have soared. Everyday costs keep rising, but paychecks aren’t keeping up.
Stay tuned tonight as I post live throughout the President's State of the Union. #SOTU26
Helen and I stand with New Yorkers in rejecting these cruel attacks on health care. Her presence at the State of the Union sends a powerful message that we won’t back down.
I’ve known Helen for many years, including her time leading NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst. She’s seen firsthand how Republican attacks on our health care system have hurt New Yorkers.
Their plans to slash Medicaid and let vital tax credits expire will devastate families across our city.
I’m honored to bring Dr. Helen Arteaga, New York City’s Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services under Mayor Mamdani, as my guest to the State of the Union.
People have been killed by ICE and DHS, immigrants in our communities are living in fear, and families have been torn apart.
When Americans are scared, barely scraping by, and can't afford a doctor when they're sick, the state of our union is not strong.
Prices for groceries, utilities, and health care keep going up, while Republicans slash Medicaid and food assistance and let premiums skyrocket.
Families and small businesses are paying the price for his tariffs.
Tonight the President will give his State of the Union address before Congress. No matter what the President says tonight, Americans know exactly how hard this past year has been.
Today, Putin's assaults, atrocities, & war crimes continue, especially against women and girls. Instead of placating Putin, the United States should stand firmly with Ukraine.
I will always stand with the people of Ukraine as they continue to demonstrate remarkable courage, strength, & resilience.
Four years ago, Russia launched its unprovoked, illegal war against Ukraine.
Russia thought Kyiv would fall in hours. It still stands. Ukraine stands. The Ukrainian people stand.
What that means in real life: more help for people fighting illegal evictions, escaping abuse, protecting their benefits, and standing up to scammers and predatory lenders. (3/3)
Now, LSC will still have hundreds of millions of dollars to fund legal aid in every state, so low-income Americans don’t have to go to court alone. (2/3)
When Republicans and Donald Trump tried to wipe out funding for the Legal Services Corporation, Democrats fought back and kept this lifeline for veterans, survivors of domestic violence, seniors, and families facing eviction or foreclosure. (1/3)
We expect to resume regular in-person hours on Tuesday, February 24th.
Due to the severe winter storm impacting Queens-NYC, my District Offices will be operating remotely on Monday, February 23rd. If you need assistance, my team and I will continue to be available via phone and email. Feel free to reach out at 718-358-MENG or Ny06casework@mail.house.gov.
A travel ban has been declared in New York City from Sunday at 9 p.m. to Monday at 12 p.m. As a result of the winter storm, non-essential vehicles are prohibited from operating on NYC streets, highways and bridges.
It’s an honor to represent so many Bangladeshi Americans on Capitol Hill and to recognize the tremendous contributions they make to Queens, New York, and our nation. (2/2)
International Mother Language Day holds special meaning for Bangladesh and Bangladeshi Americans, especially here in Queens. I’m proud to champion a resolution in the House recognizing its 26th anniversary. (1/2)
A huge winter storm is expected to hit Queens-NYC tomorrow and continue into Monday. A blizzard warning has been issued. Please be prepared and take appropriate precautions. Safety must be the top priority.
