It's simple. Members of Congress should not be able to use prediction markets or self-deal on the stock market.  This is a basic issue of fairness — and I'm working to make sure bans on both become a reality.
Last Thursday, I visited Stafford County Fire and Rescue Station 14.    Hearing directly from first responders about their experiences and the support they need is essential as we continue working to strengthen public safety and emergency response services across our communities.
This National Police Week, I’m proud to honor the brave law enforcement officers who serve our communities with professionalism, courage, and dedication — and to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Virginians should not be paying more for groceries, gas, and basic necessities because of another costly overseas conflict.  I’m leading legislation to pause the diesel tax and backing a gas tax pause to deliver immediate relief for working families.
I introduced a bill to BAN Members of Congress and their families from using prediction markets. Allowing lawmakers to use prediction markets undermines public trust and endangers U.S. national security. Congress must pass this bill and begin restoring the people's faith in their institutions.
Last week, I visited Stafford 9’s Aquia Harbour Volunteer Rescue Squad.  These dedicated volunteers answer the call day and night, responding to emergencies professionalism and an unwavering commitment to serving our community.  I’m grateful for all they do to keep Stafford safe.
As a 25-year Army veteran, I know firsthand that far too many service members are being squeezed by skyrocketing prescription drug costs.  That’s why I’m proud to introduce the MISSION Rx Act, legislation to ensure military families can access prescription medications at the lowest prices.
Congratulations to all who participated in this year’s Congressional Art Competition. VA-07 is home to an incredible amount of talent!   I’m excited to see our first-place winner Marilyn’s piece displayed in the U.S. Capitol alongside artwork from winners across the country.
Last Wednesday, I toured Fredericksburg's Chatham Manor. Built in the 1770s, it played significant roles during the Civil War. Today, it’s part of the National Park Service and is open to visitors as part of the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park.
Inflation is outpacing wages for the first time in three years.    Gas prices have climbed above $4 a gallon.    Monthly utility bills continue to rise.   This conflict is far from over — and hardworking Virginians are paying the price.
Diesel powers the trucks that move food and goods across the country — and rising diesel prices are driving up costs for Virginia families.     That’s why I’m leading legislation with Rep. Don Davis to pause the diesel tax and backing two bills to pause the gas tax to provide immediate relief.
It was an honor to visit the Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department to present Avery Wise with an entry into the Congressional Record.    At only 18 years old, Avery is already serving as an EMT and is working towards becoming a crew lead. Thank you for your service, Avery!
For 10 weeks, Americans have been footing the bill for a war they never wanted.  ⛽ Gas prices are up 28%    🛒 Inflation is outpacing wages    🍅 Grocery prices are soaring  There is no end in sight — and hardworking families are paying the price.
Congratulations Dr. Stephen Farnsworth on his retirement from the University of Mary Washington!     For more than 25 years, Dr. Farnsworth has served as a Professor of Political Science at the University of Mary Washington. I wish him well in his retirement!
This is yet another conflict Trump has pulled us into without Congressional approval.  Congress has a constitutional responsibility to authorize the use of military force. Bypassing that process weakens accountability and democratic oversight.  The American people deserve transparency.
