Let's be clear about what happened here: Trump went through this whole charade just so he could get a $1.8 billion, taxpayer-funded slush fund to dole out to his lawbreaking friends, potentially including January 6th insurrectionists.
Corruption plain and simple.
The president’s approval among young people looks like it’s cratering. This was a key part of his coalition in 2024, so it’s a big deal.
But we can’t take anything for granted. We need to offer solutions so young people know they have a brighter future ahead of them.
On this International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, we must remember that if you allow the rights of LGBTQ people to be violated, you’re opening the door for that to happen to you too.
Our demand for equality is not just our own.
Wanted to remind you about my telephone town hall coming up on Wednesday! See the info below to join me and your neighbors across the state to make your voice heard.
I’m encouraged that overdose deaths fell nationally for the third straight year.
As good as this news is, it just shows that we can’t take our foot off the gas. We need to provide these critical programs the resources they need – clearly it pays off.
Right now, we’re watching a systematic attack on the political power of Black voters across the South. It threatens to bring us back to a deeply shameful part of our past.
Today, I’m standing in solidarity with the National Day of Action and in support of fair representation for every American.
President Trump doesn’t know what it’s like to struggle in today’s economy. And, according to his own words, he doesn’t think about it one bit.
As we work to strengthen confidence in our elections and defend our democracy from Trump and his cronies, this sends exactly the wrong message. It is a dangerous and deeply misguided mistake that weakens accountability at a moment when our democracy needs it most. (2/2)
I’m furious at the decision to grant clemency to Tina Peters. She was convicted by a jury of her peers of illegally granting access to voting machines and allowing election data to be copied and shared on the internet to serve wild conspiracy theories. (1/2)
This is cartoonishly corrupt.
I know that we’ve come to expect this from Trump and his cronies, but that doesn’t mean that we still don’t deserve better. The President of the United States should serve the American people – not just himself.
As we head toward the midterms, I wanted to let you know that we aren’t taking any threat to our safe, fair, and free elections lightly.
Proud to host René Sylvestre, Québec’s Delegate to New England, yesterday in my office.
I’m looking forward to working with Mr. Sylvestre to build on the historically close relationship between Vermonters and Québecers in the years to come.
Last night, I was proud to jam with @rephuffman.bsky.social and @casten.house.gov on stage at the Congressional Record!
It was a great evening full of appreciation for the arts and recommitment to protecting its presence in our schools for our kids.

🚨BREAKING news from #SCOTUS. Today was a positive outcome. Access mifepristone is—rightfully—preserved as this case continues. But the fight is not over. Every legal attack & back-and-forth court decision causes unacceptable chaos and confusion for patients and providers.
American workers are tired of being left behind while corporations dominate our trade policy and CEOs make record profits.
I was proud to stand with @delauro.house.gov and our colleagues today as we introduced the Fair Trade for Working Families Resolution.
This week, the chair of the education committee sent a totally backwards and condescending letter to a 10 year old constituent of hers.
We should be encouraging our kids to be interested in government, and our kids should be able to expect more from their elected leaders.
To all the Vermonters who’ve told me how expensive your life has gotten - I hear you.
Now that I’m back in DC, I’m ready to get back to work lowering costs. We just need willing partners in the Republican majority.
Next Wednesday, I’ll be hosting a telephone town hall so I can hear from Vermonters and answer questions on the topics most important to our communities.

These subpoenas are right out of the authoritarian playbook.
This is exactly why I partnered with @wyden.senate.gov to introduce a bill that would strengthen protections for journalists against unreasonable government searches. We must stand up for truth and transparency.
