Law(less) and (Dis)orderly, Episode 12:
None of these actions make our country safer or citizens more prosperous, but here are some of the things the Trump administration delivered this week:
Spending $200B more in the first 100 days compared to what was spent in the same time period last year;
Earlier this week, I introduced bipartisan legislation for paid family leave alongside my friend and colleague, Rep. Stephanie Bice. We recently sat down with Steve Scully of SiriusXM to discuss paid family leave and several other prominent issues. Listen to our conversation here: bit.ly/43aWmdk
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Good to see President Trump and his administration want to protect something. Unfortunately it's Pete Hegseth and the rest of Trump's inner circle.
The silence of the Republicans is deafening.
And why aren't my Republican colleagues raging against this latest unconstitutional, illegal action by POTUS? Why aren't they defending our kids when their mental health is being defunded? Call your elected officials to tell them our kids matter. Their mental health matters.
"the best interest of the federal government." What? Since when is stopping school shootings and treating youth mental health NOT in the best interests of Americans?
Now President Trump, Elon Musk and DOGE think they know better. They are claiming that bipartisan programs designed and Congressionally funded to help youth mental health and stem gun violence in schools aren't in
We know this from assassination attempts. It's exactly why Congress came together and allocated a billion dollars to help our kids' mental health.
FACT: American youth are struggling with mental health. We know this because of Uvalde and similar school shootings that happen every day. We know this because of the pandemic and its consequences.

Thank you to Rep. Don Bacon for speaking out in support of AmeriCorps and partnering with me on bipartisan legislation to stop Elon Musk from gutting the program. wapo.st/3YXDuvT
I am thankful for all that our firefighters do to keep us safe and am moved to see the city of Reading united behind those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our community.
This weekend is National Fallen Firefighters Memorial weekend, and the City of Reading is lighting itself up red all week to honor the bravery and sacrifice of our nation’s fallen heroes.
I'm proud today to join co-chair Rep. Bice to introduce bipartisan paid family leave legislation designed to provide additional access to leave by providing states with scalable support and tools to coordinate across state lines. houlahan.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=4501
Sharing Episode 5 of "The Fly In," this time featuring my colleagues @repgreglandsman.bsky.social @jahimes.bsky.social Marc Veasey and Kristen McDonald Rivet. Tune in!

Thread. Just how important is it to Republicans in Congress to protect Trump and his minions? It’s literally the main thing they do.
@jbendery.bsky.social explains House Republicans’ effort to bury Signalgate and protect the blabbermouth Secretary of Defense.
and our national security at risk under his management. He cannot be trusted with our financial resources. More importantly, he cannot be trusted with our most precious resource—our men and women in uniform. Hegseth must go.
I voted NO on the House Armed Services Committee's
budget reconciliation. We cannot give the Department of Defense an additional $150 billion while Pete Hegseth is running the Pentagon. The nation is in danger

Today during the House Armed Services Committee budget markup, I offered a simple amendment that will block the *additional* $150B Republicans are asking for from being spent until the Secretary of Defense is gone. We are not safe under Pete Hegseth's management of the Pentagon, and he must go.
Please reach out to your lawmakers to let them know you support this legislation and want to see it passed! Because every American deserves equal protection under our laws, regardless of who they are and who they love.
Today with my colleagues on the @equality.house.gov we reintroduced the #EqualityAct to ensure LGBTQI+ Americans are not discriminated against in employment, housing, education and more.
