I’ve urged my Republican & Democratic colleagues to include funding we need to compensate New Mexicans who have lost so much and deserve so much more. We got it: $1.5B is in the Continuing Resolution for the Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon Fire. To FEMA I say: we got you the money, get it out fast!
My heart is with the families affected by this act of violence. Our children deserve our courage. Speaker Johnson must allow the House to vote for universal background checks and other common sense gun safety legislation now.
