SCOTUS’ decision to preserve access to mifepristone through telehealth and mail is a victory, albeit tenuous. Reproductive care is under direct attack across this country. This ruling offers little reassurance from courts that have failed to fully protect women’s healthcare and bodily autonomy.🧵
The massive jump in wholesale inflation is fueled by Trump’s illegal tariffs and just as illegal war of choice in Iran. Americans will continue to pay even more as producers mark up prices to cover their bottom line. He doesn't care. Don't take my word for it. He said it himself in plain language.
And it's blatantly political, because our state refuses to bend the knee to this corrupt administration. I will keep fighting with everything I have to protect and restore the healthcare millions of Californians depend on.
Over 14 million Californians rely on Medicaid - including millions of kids, seniors in nursing homes, people with disabilities, and hardworking families. This isn't fiscal responsibility - it's cruelty, especially after Republicans cut billions from MediCal in Trump’s Big Ugly Bill. 🧵
Here in Sacramento, we know the value of public utilities like SMUD and as electricity demand grows, Congress has to make sure our power system keeps up without forcing families to pay more.
Sacramento families deserve reliable power and lower utility bills.  Today, I questioned energy experts about how we can build an energy grid that moves power more efficiently, prevents outages and keeps costs down. 🧵
Inflation is rising at an egregious rate. Gas prices are up 28.4%. Energy costs have surged 17.9% nationally, and food prices keep climbing while families struggle to pay their bills and keep food on the table. A basic quality of life has simply become unsustainable for millions. 🧵
The Trump administration thinks taking food away from struggling families is something to brag about. Now they’re jamming through legislation that locks in $187 billion in SNAP cuts while creating wasteful, unnecessary bureaucratic barriers for people already in dire need.
ICE has killed innocent people, torn families apart and terrorized communities. It is a domestic threat, and I will not stop fighting to protect Sacramento and communities across the country from their terror campaign.
ICE needs to be torn down. Wrongfully detaining a 19-year-old with excessive force is not an isolated incident. It is part of a documented pattern of violence and intimidation by Trump’s rogue paramilitary force. 🧵
Right now, the focus must be on restoring systems safely, minimizing disruption, and protecting personal information. Incidents like this make clear that continued investment in cybersecurity is essential.
As Ranking Member of the Communications and Technology Subcommittee, I’ve pushed to strengthen cybersecurity protections so schools and public institutions have the tools and resources needed to respond to evolving threats.
I am closely monitoring the Canvas hack that disrupted thousands of college students' finals week. Cyberattacks on schools and public institutions are becoming more frequent and more sophisticated. Protecting students, educators, and sensitive information must be a top priority. 🧵
This is not about protecting the public. It’s about loyalty to Trump and protecting his ego. Full stop. I stand with ABC and with every American’s right to speak freely without fear of government retaliation.
