4/ This ruling is a major step toward restoring economic sanity and bringing down costs for Arizonans—but the legal fight is far from over. Congress needs to pass my bill to reclaim legislative authority over trade policy. www.azcentral.com/story/news/p...
3/ Over the last few months, I've spoken to countless Arizona small businesses and families who have been reeling from these on-again, off-again tariffs. The chaos has driven up prices for everyday goods, and made it impossible for employers to plan for the future.
2/ I’ve introduced legislation, and built bipartisan support, to end Trump’s misuse of “emergency powers” to set tariffs under a law. Today a panel of federal judges agreed: Trump went too far. Congress did not delegate “unbounded authority” to the President to set tariffs.
1/ 🚨NEW: A federal court just ruled that Trump illegally used emergency powers to impose sweeping global tariffs. I’ve been leading the charge in Congress to stop this exact abuse. Here’s why this victory matters🧵
I’ve been leading efforts in Congress to rein in Trump’s abuse of emergency powers—and today, we won. A federal court ruled Trump overstepped his authority by using emergency powers to impose sweeping global tariffs. A major victory for Arizona families, businesses, and the rule of law.
The Constitution makes clear that Congress, not the president, has full and final authority over tariffs. So we're suing—and we'll win. If the president believes his tariffs are so popular, then he should welcome a vote in Congress.
A solemn visit to the Hỏa Lò Prison with Ambassador Marc Knapper and Rep. Moolenaar, the “Hanoi Hilton” where Senator John McCain was held as a prisoner of war. A reminder of his courage and the sacrifice of all who served in the Vietnam War.
This Memorial Day weekend, I flew with U.S. forces over the South China Sea to let them know we've got their backs. Their dedication shows why American leadership here matters—for our safety, our freedom, and global stability.
It’s not just Trump’s tariffs that are driving up prices and disrupting supply chains, it’s the chaos that comes with. The economic whiplash makes it harder for AZ families & businesses to prepare for the future. Worse? There’s no clear goal, no strategy—just confusion. www.cnbc.com/amp/2025/05/...
Team Stanton wanted to find personal, special ways to honor our heroes this weekend. So I was incredibly moved and proud when they joined VFW Post 1760 - Mesa at Mesa Cemetary to place flags at the headstones of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
On #MemorialDay, we remember the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation and our freedom. I’m thinking of their families today and of everyone who continues to serve. We’re forever in their debt.
America’s aviation system is the gold standard for safety thanks to air traffic controllers who guide every flight, every day. It’s past time for bipartisan action to hire more controllers, upgrade outdated technology, and give them the tools they need to keep our skies safe.
As Memorial Day Weekend begins, I want to thank Arizona’s first responders who will be on duty while many spend time with loved ones. Your commitment keeps our communities safe. And to your families, thank you for your sacrifice and for sharing your time with us.
TSMC is sounding the alarm that Trump’s chaotic tariffs could derail their historic investment in Arizona & jeopardize tens of thousands of jobs here in Phoenix. A better plan is to build on our bipartisan CHIPS Act: more & stronger worker training programs and investments in cutting edge research.
BREAKING: A federal judge just blocked President Trump’s attempt to dismantle the Department of Education. I joined the case because no president has unilateral authority to dismantle a cabinet agency Congress created. If he wants to change the law, he has to come back to Congress.
Dismantling the Department of Education will hurt so many Arizona students, educators and families. And it's flat-out illegal. We're suing.
At @houseforeign.bsky.social, I presented the irony that Secretary Rubio is defending the same reckless foreign policies Senator Rubio once warned about: ❌Tariffs that alienate allies ❌Commitments we don’t keep ❌Credibility we’ve thrown away China isn’t being deterred, but emboldened.
