Normally when a policy has winners and losers you hear from both sides, but in this case it feels like the winners are at best silent and at worst still actively furious
"Wage compression" is discussed as a negative; service price inflation is discussed as a negative; and there's absolutely nothing from people better off due to an incredibly clear policy impact
Weird thing: the UK minimum wage has risen against inflation for years. It's now really high. Millions of people are earning more than they were as a direct result of this policy. And the impact on the vibes of the country is… entirely absent?
