In yesterday’s briefing on Trump’s war with Iran, we got no additional information on what the “imminent threat” was.
Congress alone has the power to declare war. This is illegal, unconstitutional, and absolutely unacceptable.
I’ve been notified about another death in ICE custody.
This marks a stunning 40 deaths during the second Trump administration.
This cannot continue. There must be real accountability for ICE and DHS.
For Americans stuck in the Middle East — here are some resources to stay informed and stay safe during this time.
Circumstances are changing often, so make sure you keep yourself informed on @TravelGov’s latest guidance.
Just last week, I called for Camp East Montana to be shut down with @repescobar.bsky.social.
Now, it is reportedly quarantined due to a measles outbreak, meaning no visitors or attorneys.
Unbelievable. These private, for-profit facilities should not exist.
The Constitution requires Congress to debate and authorize any use of military force — so we can consider the evidence and the grave consequences of putting our troops at risk. (2/2)
NEWS FLASH: In a democracy, we don’t allow one guy to take the entire country to war based on an “opinion.” That’s what the kings we were breaking from used to do. (1/2)
Trump promised lower prices and no new wars.
He lied.
It’s clear that Trump & his administration have no clear plan for their war with Iran.
They’re telling people to evacuate the region, but providing no assistance. Kash Patel also FIRED a dozen agents/staff who monitor threats from Iran.
The incompetence is incredibly dangerous.
At least 6 service members have lost their lives because of Trump’s illegal war.
Congress must step up to reassert our constitutional power before more Americans are killed.
I will be supporting the War Powers Resolution to reassert Congress’s authority to declare war.
We cannot let more Americans die because of this unconstitutional, illegal war.
Trump promised no new wars.
Now, four Americans have died, and he’s threatening the lives of more troops as he wages an illegal regime-change war.
Hours before U.S. strikes in Iran, new accounts made predictions on Polymarket, which Trump Jr. is on the advisory board for, raking in massive profits.
This is beyond suspicious. No one should profit from a war that has already cost American lives — these bets need to be investigated and banned.
Trump’s illegal, unconstitutional, and deadly regime-change war was NOT based on any imminent threat. Iran was not planning on attacking U.S. forces.
Congress must vote YES on this week’s War Powers resolution to stop U.S. involvement in another forever war in the Middle East.
The American people do not want another forever war in the name of regime change.
This war, launched unilaterally by Trump, has already cost US servicemembers lives.
Trump’s attacks on Iran are both illegal and unconstitutional.
Congress alone has the constitutional authority to declare war. We must vote urgently on the War Powers resolution.
This president promised to end wars — and instead is starting new, unconstitutional wars, wasting American taxpayer dollars and putting our servicemembers at risk. He has no respect for the constitution, Congress, or the rule of law in this country. (2/2)
This is an unconstitutional war and Congress needs to vote immediately on a war powers resolution to tell the president to stop. I will be a strong yes. (1/2)
As we near the end of this Black History Month, I want to highlight a remarkable leader in our district: Michelle Merriweather, President & CEO of the Urban League of Metro Seattle!
Michelle’s dedication is an inspiration & moves us toward a future where equity is not a dream but a lived reality.
Trump’s private, for-profit detention centers are putting babies into medical distress.
Families are having to line up outside for hours in freezing temperatures or rain for each dose of medicine.
This is sick — no child should be treated this way.
The IRS broke the law over 42,000 times by giving taxpayer data to the Department of Homeland Security.
This is a total violation of privacy.
Paying taxes should not be weaponized against anyone to help Trump’s chaos and cruelty.
