We’re 60 days into this war, and the American people are worse off by every measure. This should be a red line for every single one of my colleagues. Now is the time to stop Donald Trump’s war in Iran before it’s too late.
Any attempts to prolong this reckless, costly, and unnecessary war of choice are insulting to my constituents – 2,500 San Diego Marines who are off the coast of Iran fighting this war – and to all Americans who are paying the price at the gas pump and the grocery store.
Trump and his army of sycophants are already trying to claim that the ceasefire stops the 60-day clock… but it doesn’t.
Today marks 60 days of Donald Trump’s war in Iran, which triggers the legal requirements under the 1973 War Powers Resolution. Trump is legally obligated to get congressional authorization for this conflict or end hostilities immediately. This isn’t a suggestion – it’s the law.
I had so much fun at the Linda Vista Multi-Cultural Fair! Our community is strong and vibrant because it’s made up of so many different cultures and traditions – and as long as we keep coming together, no one can take that away from us.
Free live music on Adams Avenue? Sign me up! It was so great to stop by Adams Ave Unplugged last weekend, with 90 live music performances hosted by local bars, restaurants, and cafes. Such a cool event in our community!
My team joined The Center’s annual Dine Out for Life fundraiser (which supports their health and wellness programs for San Diego’s LGBTQ+ community) with a quick stop at Mariposa Ice Cream in Normal Heights!
Trump just fired every Advisory Board Member of the National Science Foundation (NSF) – the leading funder of scientific research – with no explanation. Trump continues to illegally undermine and politicize science in ways that will set us back for years.
Trump's war on Iran was illegal from day one – Congress never authorized it. Tomorrow, the statutory 60-day clock runs out too. Republicans are out of excuses and should join Democrats and stop this war. Let's put the pressure on.

Don’t need a study to tell me that housing in San Diego is way too expensive (we ALL know that) – but here’s a new one deeming us the 5th most expensive housing market in the U.S. We need to meet the scale of this crisis and dramatically scale up building.
I asked Secretary Hegseth a straightforward, yes or no question today: Is Donald Trump mentally stable enough to be Commander in Chief?
He didn't say yes. And that speaks volumes.
Section 702 of FISA has allowed the government to spy on the American people for decades – but the rise of AI makes it a lot easier and faster. We can’t let this practice continue unchecked, so I’m still a hard NO on a clean FISA reauthorization.
The Supreme Court just gutted the Voting Rights Act.
As Justice Kagan writes in her dissent, the Court’s changes don’t just “update” the law – they eviscerate it.
This is a devastating blow to our democracy and undermines decades of progress.
I couldn’t agree more. The lack of sufficient child care options for our military families hurts our readiness because our troops can’t fully focus on their jobs of keeping us safe when they’re worried about their kids.
April is Care Workers Recognition Month. It's so important that we uplift the workers who keep our kids, aging parents, and loved ones with disabilities safe and supported – and ensure their immense value and hard work are reflected in fair pay, benefits, and dignity at work.
Reminder as Karoline Leavitt prepares to go on leave to have her baby: federal employees are entitled to 12 weeks of paid parental leave while only 1 in 3 workers nationwide get ANY paid parental leave.
We need guaranteed paid parental leave for everyone!
The Trump Administration’s slow-rolling of DACA renewals is just another example of their ultimate goal: eliminating legal immigration. This needs to stop now.
When Democrats are in the House majority, we will do real oversight of all illegal strikes, get justice for survivors and those who were killed, and establish guardrails to ensure adherence to international law.
Personally, I’m more worried about the families barely making ends meet that are shelling out extra thousands of dollars from Trump’s tariffs than mega corporations. The American people need relief.
🙋♀️I’m one of the 70% of Americans who believe the U.S. should make a deal to end the war in Iran as quickly as possible. This war is too costly, too reckless, too illegal, and too unpredictable to continue.
