I joined Ranking Member @bobbyscott.house.gov to demand answers about why and how Secretary Kennedy made this harmful decision. We will keep up the pressure until it is reversed.

The Administration for Community Living oversees essential programs like Meals on Wheels and other services for seniors and people with disabilities.
RFK Jr.'s decision to eliminate ACL is unacceptable and will harm millions of Americans who can live and age with dignity because of ACL’s support.
Scoop: Democrats have introduced an official inquiry into the decision to closure of the Administration for Community Living, which helps disabled and aging adults remain independent. New from me at @motherjones.com. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
I reviewed some of the comments left on a recent clip I posted where the Education Secretary confused A.I. with A1. One person wrote that if we’re putting A1 in classrooms, we should also include Heinz 57 because a “diversity of condiments” is important.

We will continue to show up, speak up and stand up until we end this national nightmare.

Asking Geier to lead any research project for the federal government would be a dangerous to public health and a colossal waste of money.
It is unacceptable that RFK Jr. is abusing his platform to spread misinformation that threatens public health, and Geier’s comments and positions are especially threatening to the health and wellbeing of autistic people.
David Geier is neither a doctor nor a scientist; he is a discredited conspiracy theorist and hack researcher who RFK Jr. hired to advance his anti-science, anti-vaccine agenda.

Seniors in Beaverton, OR expressed worry & anger about the Trump administration's handling of Social Security at a town hall last night, led by Rep. Suzanne Bonamici. Our president Max Richtman told the audience: "If we fight, we can stop bad things from happening." #socialsecurity #townhall

Thank you to everyone who joined me, @repbonamici.bsky.social, & @whipkclark.bsky.social at our seniors town hall in #Beaverton.
We’re going to keep fighting back against President Trump’s attacks on Social Security, Medicare, and other critical benefits that Oregon seniors have earned and deserve.

Trump & Musk's reckless decision to eliminate the office that provides services for seniors and Americans with disabilities risks their safety and ability to live independently.
Committee Democrats won’t be silent. Starting today, Republicans have 14 legislative days to answer.

This is outrageous and it must end before the country slides further into authoritarian rule.
The Trump administration is detaining people based on legitimate political speech, disappearing people to a notorious El Salvador prison without due process, and now they have arrested a state judge as part of their inhumane mass deportation agenda.
Your stories and your voices are important, and I’ll take them with me when I head back to D.C. to protect Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and other vital programs.
The Oregonians we heard from were clear: they don’t agree with Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and the GOP leadership’s disastrous plan to gut critical services and take away earned benefits like Social Security and Medicare.
Thanks to all the Oregonians who attended our town hall meeting. We answered questions about the cuts and layoffs at Social Security, whether Social Security account data is safe and private, and more.
Many people left comments on a recent clip I posted where the Education Secretary confused A.I. with A1. One commenter called the Secretary a “DEI hire” but as another person wrote, we should be really calling her and the rest of Trump’s Cabinet “nepo hires.”

“HHS Secretary Kennedy’s decision to eliminate ACL is unacceptable and will be harmful to the millions of Americans who benefit from essential programs like Meals on Wheels," @repbonamici.bsky.social said in a statement to me.
I serve in the minority party in Congress, but it’s clear that many Oregonians and Americans don’t agree with Trump and unelected billionaire Musk’s reckless actions that threaten vital services and the global economy.
Never again means standing up against discrimination and hate in all its forms. We will not remain silent.
On Yom HaShoah we honor the memories of the six million Jewish victims murdered during the Holocaust and the millions of innocent people who were persecuted by the Nazi regime because of who they were or who they loved.
