Working families are already struggling with costs. We shouldn’t be adding more economic uncertainty through reckless tariffs.
We need policies that strengthen American industry and protect our workers – not make everyday essentials more expensive.

This week, I had the opportunity to speak with the Caterpillar team about the importance of a strong surface transportation reauthorization bill so we can continue to support our local infrastructure and good paying union jobs for folks in Central Illinois.
This week, I met with some of our officials from Southern and Central Illinois to discuss infrastructure funding and how we can work to continue to make sure rural communities have the support they need.
It was great meeting my dear friend from Chatham Dave Kimsey and the team from the American Hotel and Lodging Association to discuss how we can work together to encourage more people from Illinois and around the country to visit our district and enjoy all our communities have to offer.

Cutting SNAP benefits won’t lower grocery prices or help working families. It will just make it harder for kids, seniors, veterans and working parents to put food on the table.
