Republicans are ripping health care from millions and driving up the cost of living to support Trump’s tariffs, war, gilded ballroom, and now a $1.8 billion slush fund for his friends.
As Americans struggle in Trump's failing economy, Democrats are fighting to lower costs for everyone.
Trump said he wanted to 'drain the swamp.' Instead, he has filled the sewer with corruption, cronyism, conflict, and chaos while taking a chainsaw to the Constitution.
I will continue to fight to hold the President accountable and call out his Republican majority for being complicit in his schemes.
Our brave officers deserve better. I'm glad to join Rep. Walkinshaw to introduce legislation that would help Capitol Police build better financial futures so they can keep Members, staff, visitors, and Congress itself safe.

USCP is understaffed, yet it's difficult to recruit and retain officers when other agencies offer more competitive pay and benefits.
The Constitution clearly states: Congress enacts laws, and the Executive Branch enforces.
Those who truly care about our democracy would not stand by silently as the President bypasses the authority of Congress to the detriment of our country.

Republicans claim they're working to ensure America's energy independence & prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. Their cuts to clean energy & nuclear defense funding do the exact opposite. @democrats-appropriations.house.gov will keep fighting to lower energy costs & reduce nuclear threats.
The DOJ's settlement is just the latest example of Trump's unchecked schemes to enrich himself, his family, and his friends at the taxpayers’ expense.
Congress must assert its oversight power and use every tool to hold this President and his Administration accountable for this rampant corruption.
Barney Frank and I both came to the Congress in 1981 & have been close friends for over four decades. Across a range of issues, & on behalf of those in Massachusetts & the entire country, Barney was a tireless champion.
He'll long be remembered for his courage. May his memory be a blessing to all.
While their war of choice in Iran continues to drive energy costs up even more, Trump and Republicans are working to slash critical funding for projects that provide affordable clean energy and counter nuclear terrorism.
Watch @democrats-appropriations.house.gov fight back:
It was an honor to join CSM's School of STEM and Professional Studies Spring 2026 Commencement ceremony and receive the 2026 Trustee Distinguished Service Award. I am grateful to receive this award and was proud to celebrate the achievements of our graduates.
Congratulations to the Class of 2026!
I commend the courage of Amin Abdullah, the law enforcement, and first responders who took swift action to protect members of the community. My prayers are with the victims and their families, those who attend and worship at the center, and the entire Muslim community at this time.
I am horrified by the tragic shooting that occurred at the Islamic Center of San Diego. The rise of hate-fueled attacks against religious communities is deeply disturbing & completely unacceptable. Islamophobia should have no place in our country or the world, & every American ought to be concerned.
Soon, the House will have a long overdue vote on expressing its support for Ukraine and our opposition to the Russian invasion.
The people of Ukraine have shown tremendous courage in this fight, and Congress needs to do the same.

@democrats-appropriations.house.gov will keep fighting against these cuts and working to improve the lives of every American.

Republicans' funding bill makes dangerous cuts to programs that protect Americans, support scientific development, and mitigate the pain from Trump's illegal tariffs and war of choice with Iran.
With the last signature secured on a bipartisan discharge petition, the House will finally move to vote on the Ukraine Support Act.
I thank my colleagues for their collaboration to send a strong message to Russia and the brave Ukrainians fighting to defend their nation and its sovereignty.
In the middle of a cost-of-living crisis, Republicans are trying to slash programs that support local economies, keep our communities safe, & drive scientific research & technological development across the country.
Tune in as @democrats-appropriations.house.gov fight Republicans' funding proposal:
The Key Bridge collapse impacted the livelihoods of thousands within our region and our entire nation. Over the last two years, Team Maryland worked together to recover & rebuild. Today’s settlement is another important step towards holding the liable parties accountable and building back stronger.
Thank you to all who joined the 45th Annual Service Academies & College ROTC Showcase. I was glad to see many #MD05 students intent on pursuing an education & training to become a commissioned officer at one of our esteemed institutions. I wish them luck as they seek to serve our country in uniform.
