SNAP is a lifeline for families, veterans, seniors, disabled people and children across America. It should never be used as political leverage.
They CAN find $40 billion for Argentina and $178 million for luxury planes — but not enough to feed 42 million Americans. That’s not a budget problem. That’s a moral one.
We have the money. The Republican Party just doesn’t have the will.
SNAP has a $5 billion emergency fund — money Congress set aside for crises like this. With planning, the administration could’ve ensured families weren’t left with nothing.
The Trump administration says it can’t make SNAP payments because of the shutdown — leaving 42 million Americans at risk of going hungry.
But that’s a choice, not a constraint.
A quick reminder for Pennsylvania voters: tomorrow is the deadline to apply for an absentee or mail-in ballot for the November election.
If you plan to vote by mail, visit the website on the graphic to request your ballot and make your voice heard.
This Thursday, October 30, we will join @RepDanWilliams office in Thorndale to chat with constituents and answer questions about state or federal government.
Hope you'll stop by!

They are asking for help in their investigation so if you were at Lincoln and have information or video from last night, please contact the team working on this at 1-800-CALL-FBI
I am so sad for the families, students and university community who are living through this and ask everyone in our district to hold them close today. I’m grateful to the first responders and law enforcement officers who responded so quickly.
Homecoming celebrations were interrupted by gunfire last night at Lincoln University. One person has died and additional victims are in the hospital.
We cannot trust the President to tell us the truth–whether it's about the East Wing, the economy, our alliances or our national security.
We certainly can't trust him with our healthcare.

I will be hosting my 3rd annual Medicare/healthcare telephone town hall on Monday, October 27th at 10:30 AM. Joining me are members of the Chester County Health Department and the Chester County Department of Aging Services to help any questions you may have on PA MEDI and other programs.
William Penn envisioned a land free of tyranny. A place where government worked by, for, and with the people that it served. In 1682, in his newly founded city of Philadelphia, he wrote that "no one can be put out of his estate and subjected to the political view of another, without his consent."
This shutdown isn’t just about politics. It’s about the dignity and safety of our elders. I won't stop fighting for them.
I had the opportunity to visit with folks at the West Chest Area Senior Center and learn about how they're managing through these uncertain times. The shutdown has stalled federal reimbursements, delayed Social Security responses, and created anxiety around Medicare services.
When a senior citizen misses a meal, skips a medical appointment, or loses access to a trusted counselor, the consequences are real and immediate. And those who have dedicated their careers to caring for seniors are left wondering what they can do to help.
We are still open! Check out the latest newsletter to learn more about how my team can help you, even during the shutdown.

I will continue to oppose cuts to Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements so our community's healthcare facilities can continue to provide lifesaving and life-affirming care.
This week I visited Paoli Hospital to speak with healthcare professionals and hospital administrators about their services and operating challenges. The rising cost of patient care along with Medicare and Medicaid underpayments have created considerable issues across MLH.
