Open enrollment begins on November 1 – and health insurance will get more expensive if Republicans let the ACA tax credits expire at the end of the year. According to Pennie, the PA health insurance marketplace, prices will increase by around 46% in Chester County and by 74% in Berks.
Federal funding of basic scientific research is essential to support this emerging sector. It's what sets the U.S. apart from our competitors. I urge the Trump Administration to reverse course on its cuts to science, which are stalling our biotech growth and putting national security at risk.
We talked about the bipartisan BIOTech Caucus, which I founded this year with my colleague Rep. Stephanie Bice. Our Caucus is working to support legislation to bolster our competitiveness, spur job growth and help address pressing global issues.
PA Dems are in D.C. working to protect healthcare for all Americans. Wish we could say the same for our Republican colleagues. We are here and ready to talk! @repdean.bsky.social @scanlon.house.gov @repdwightevans.bsky.social
Today, the Supreme Court hears arguments about a case that has the potential to gut the Voting Rights Act. A ruling in Louisiana's favor would allow it and other states to gerrymander minority voters into majority-white districts, diluting their votes and costing them their voice in Congress.
The voter registration deadline for PA municipal elections is October 20! Even if you have previously voted, make sure you check your registration status. You can find a link to the PA Dept. of State at the link in my bio.
"President Donald Trump’s tariffs on imported goods have caused uncertainty, forcing companies to pull back from expansion plans and confusing supply chains. No labor-force growth this year has also hurt the economy." www.marketwatch.com/story/are-we...
Republicans are pretending that they don't own this shutdown. But we can negotiate right now and reopen the government. Protect the ACA credits, restore funding to Medicare and Medicaid and stop the nonsense.
If House Republicans work across the aisle to improve this bill, they could fix this. I hope they’ll stop playing political games with families’ livelihoods before it's too late.
20,000 people in Chester and Berks Counties will lose their insurance because of the Republican budget. Now they’ve offered a spending bill that would force many of my constituents to pay more than $3,000 extra for the same coverage.
I am thrilled that Lincoln University – the first degree-granting HBCU in the country – has received a $2 million grant from the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. This grant will strengthen research, innovation, and student success across programs at Lincoln.
Why would we willingly sign on to a deal that harms Americans? What assurances do we have that the executive branch will hold up its end of the bargain? Everyone – Republicans and Democrats – should be outraged at this administration's overreach.
