Not only did Republicans add more than $3 trillion to the national debt with their budget bill, their government shutdown could cost the American people between $7–$15 billion each week.

You read that correctly: nearly 400,000 Pennsylvanians will face higher health insurance bills if Republicans keep the government shut down. Democrats are waiting with a simple ask: extend the ACA subsidies and protect the health care of all Americans.
As the party in power, Republicans can easily end all of this by passing a budget that protects health care and lowers costs for families.
I’m ready when they are.
Our military servicemembers are working without pay. Federal services are delayed or suspended and everyday Americans are in limbo, wondering if they’ll be able to afford health insurance next year.
Republicans would rather keep the government shut down than extend ACA credits so people can keep their health insurance. While they're on vacation, my offices are open and we are ready to serve the people of PA-06.
Modern warfare demands both brain and brawn, and I'll continue to fight for every woman who puts on the uniform to protect and defend our nation.
I wish the Secretary of Defense would do the same.
Women can and do bring the warrior ethos to their military service, and Pete Hegesth's opinions on the matter do not change the facts.
This banned books week, I am proud to lead the Stop Censoring Military Families Act with @raskin.house.gov. This legislation would restore all books removed from Department of Defense Education Activity (DODEA) schools by the Trump Administration and protect school curricula from political changes.
Today my thoughts are with those who continue to mourn, and with everyone striving to end the cycles of violence and build lasting security in the region.
As we honor the victims and stand firmly against terrorism, we must also continue to work toward a future where both Israelis and Palestinians can live in safety, dignity, and peace. I hope President Trump is successful in delivering on that promise.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists brutally attacked Israel, killing and kidnapping innocent people. Two years later, the pain and grief from that day are still present, while hostages still remain in captivity.
Chag Sameach and happy Sukkot to all that are celebrating this week!
Always good to talk with Julie Mason on SiriusXM Politics. We covered the government shutdown and last Monday's strange pep rally with Secretary Hegseth.

Town Hall no. 102 is tonight in Downingtown! I'll be joined by a panel of experts as we take your questions on the Republican budget.
Doors open at 5:00 pm and seats are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Wishing all who are observing Yom Kippur a meaningful fast and a restful day.
4. Ask yourself why Republicans keep coming back to the same false narratives. Why are they trying to redirect the blame for shutting down a government they fully control? They want the subsidies to expire. They want healthcare to be out of reach.
3. If the ACA subsidies expire, people's healthcare premiums will increase. Some by only a little, but many will nearly double. I cannot, and will not, support that.
2. Undocumented immigrants cannot receive healthcare through federal programs. This means Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act subsidies that Democrats are fighting to protect.
1. I did not take a salary during the last government shutdown and will not take one now. If federal employees – everyone from our military, to postal workers, to TSA agents, and my own office staff – are expected to show up and work without pay for the duration of the shutdown, I will do the same.
I've seen some confusion – and some anger – across social media about this shutdown. And rightfully so. But I'm hoping to clear up a few things:
