You read that correctly: nearly 400,000 Pennsylvanians will face higher health insurance bills if Republicans keep the government shut down. Democrats are waiting with a simple ask: extend the ACA subsidies and protect the health care of all Americans.
Our military servicemembers are working without pay. Federal services are delayed or suspended and everyday Americans are in limbo, wondering if they’ll be able to afford health insurance next year.
Republicans would rather keep the government shut down than extend ACA credits so people can keep their health insurance. While they're on vacation, my offices are open and we are ready to serve the people of PA-06.
Modern warfare demands both brain and brawn, and I'll continue to fight for every woman who puts on the uniform to protect and defend our nation. I wish the Secretary of Defense would do the same.
This banned books week, I am proud to lead the Stop Censoring Military Families Act with @raskin.house.gov. This legislation would restore all books removed from Department of Defense Education Activity (DODEA) schools by the Trump Administration and protect school curricula from political changes.
As we honor the victims and stand firmly against terrorism, we must also continue to work toward a future where both Israelis and Palestinians can live in safety, dignity, and peace. I hope President Trump is successful in delivering on that promise.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists brutally attacked Israel, killing and kidnapping innocent people. Two years later, the pain and grief from that day are still present, while hostages still remain in captivity.
Town Hall no. 102 is tonight in Downingtown! I'll be joined by a panel of experts as we take your questions on the Republican budget. Doors open at 5:00 pm and seats are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
4. Ask yourself why Republicans keep coming back to the same false narratives. Why are they trying to redirect the blame for shutting down a government they fully control? They want the subsidies to expire. They want healthcare to be out of reach.
2. Undocumented immigrants cannot receive healthcare through federal programs. This means Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act subsidies that Democrats are fighting to protect.
1. I did not take a salary during the last government shutdown and will not take one now. If federal employees – everyone from our military, to postal workers, to TSA agents, and my own office staff – are expected to show up and work without pay for the duration of the shutdown, I will do the same.
