I'm not familiar with football--is "struggling on the offensive end" how people say "That team didn't score any points"?

I turned on the Super Bowl because I wanted to see the halftime show and saw that Dunkin Donuts ad and a crypto ad and I hate absolutely everything now. Burn it all to the stumps.
I doubt this has happened before: 11 of this weekend's top 15 movies were made independently, inc. 4 of the top 5. There is nothing holding down overall grosses and attendance more than the fact that studios have forgotten how to do what they used to do, which is to fill the pipeline with movies.
One of my most cherished annual American traditions: Experiencing that thing I don't care about through your posts while I watch a movie or something.
Comedy is like horror and sexual attraction: You feel it or you don't and there's no accounting for taste!
I'm glad! I'm not here to ruin anyone else's delight.
Same. I sit there expectantly and I never laugh.
You wake up one morning and look in the bathroom mirror and discover that the air quotes around "old" fell off while you were sleeping. Anyway, happy weekend, everybody!
You definitely want to learn to stop saying, "I am SO OLD!" long before the people to whom you're saying it just look at you in response with expressions that say, "I mean...yes."
The iconic Nine Stories edition! And I definitely had that version of Slapstick.
Sorry, I forgot to do alt-text: Spring Snow, Tough Guys Don't Dance, The Collector, Heart of Darkness, Crying of Lot 49, Group Portrait with Lady, Lucifer with a Book, Split Images, The Great Snow, The Big Fist, Quiet American, Barchester Towers, The Big Nowhere, The Tin Drum, Somebody's Darling.
In honor of the impending demise of the mass-market paperback, here's a little grid I pulled from my shelves.
(Yes, I do read women authors too. In nicer editions, obviously.)
Please take the time to read this superb @jamellebouie.net column. It establishes a baseline of truth for anyone who wants to think, talk, and write honestly about Trump. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/07/o...
Well...yeah!
Here is the video of Hakeem Jeffries saying "fuck Donald Trump" for posting that racist video of the Obamas. (originally from his official Instagram account) www.instagram.com/reel/DUbeoy5...
White House press corps, I know some of you are shy, so let me help you get started. This isn't fifty questions--I could only fit twenty-one in alt text--but let me know if you need more!
Well, I have about fifty followup questions for Leavitt.
People targeted by racist invective are under no obligation to say or do anything. Not even the Obamas. This is not their problem; it is ours.
