In the middle of the night, Trump cut 92% of USAID’s contracts — including programs to prevent millions of HIV deaths.
This is reckless and dangerous. People will die. apnews.com/article/trum...
Today, I was proud to stand with my colleagues to reintroduce the American Dream and Promise Act to give Dreamers a roadmap to citizenship.
Dreamers do essential work across our country — let’s finally pass this bipartisan bill to give them the security & protection they deserve.
Hmm... maybe DOGE isn't qualified to be running the U.S. government???

Are House Republicans okay with Trump pardoning criminals who assaulted law enforcement on Jan 6? Are they okay with some of those people having already committed more violent crimes since being pardoned?
These should be easy questions. They should be able to answer them.
Today, I joined @sylviagarcia.house.gov to reintroduce The American Dream and Promise Act.
My work with Dreamers began long before coming to Congress, and even as the Trump administration puts in place cruel and extreme immigration policies, I will continue to stand with Dreamers.
This is what dictators do — they silence the free press and only let those who are on their side ask questions. apnews.com/article/trum...
For those who missed it last night:
Almost every single House Republican voted to gut Medicaid just so they can pass a giant tax cut for the richest 1% of millionaires and billionaires.
They’re working for their donors, not you.
Donald Trump FIRED every member of the Aviation Security Advisory Committee last month. www.cbsnews.com/news/america...
99% of House Republicans just voted to gut Medicaid so they can lower taxes for the richest 1%.
They’re showing you exactly who they’re working for.
The Trump administration has fired 400 FAA workers in the past week. www.axios.com/local/chicag...
Good.
This is a major win in our fight against Trump's illegal actions to further demolish our already broken immigration system. The refugee program is an essential lawful pathway for those fleeing violence and authoritarianism around the world. www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...
Proud to join my @usprogressives.bsky.social colleagues this morning outside the Capitol with a simple message:
It’s time to tax the greedy billionaires like Donald Trump and Elon Musk who are stealing from poor and working American families.
Trump is trying to scapegoat all undocumented immigrants as criminals who need to be deported. That’s simply not true.
Our economy would collapse without the work of immigrants — some of whom have been here and waiting for a path to citizenship for decades.
Remember when Trump said he would end inflation and bring down costs on day one?
It’s been over a month, but he and Republicans in Congress have done NOTHING to actually work on lowering prices for the American people.
They’re too busy fear mongering about immigrants.
Let me be very clear:
I absolutely refuse to vote for a budget that gives tax breaks to billionaires and cuts critical programs for working families — including health care and education.
I will be a NO on the Republican budget resolution this week.
The energy at my townhall last week was amazing — people are fired up, pissed off by the Trump administration’s blatantly illegal acts, and ready to fight back to protect our democracy.
We won’t sit out. We won’t back down. We aren’t going anywhere. www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...
Trump’s admin has been chaotic, confusing, and overwhelming — and that’s the point.
They want to flood the zone so we can’t respond to every awful thing they do.
But we won’t give in. We’ll keep fighting against their unconstitutional power grabs and for our democracy.
Want to go on a hike? You may not be able to anymore thanks to Trump purging federal workers.
Aside from making our parks less accessible, this could mean job cuts for firefighters on public lands & loss of data on extreme weather. Ridiculous. www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...
Last week, House Republicans held an all-day budget markup on their top priority: making YOU pay for more than $4 trillion in tax breaks for the richest 1%.
And in order to do that, they’re going to cut the programs that benefit America’s poor and working families.
People across Washington State will see the effects of the Trump admin’s attacks on federal workers and funding in their daily lives.
National parks will have to close. Social Security checks will arrive late. Cancer research will be slowed. It’s devastating for EVERYONE.
