On this day, I reflect on the courage of those who marched from Selma to Montgomery for the third time 61 years ago today. They secured voting rights, and I refuse to stand idly by as Trump tries to infringe on millions of Americans' rights again through the SAVE Act. It must be stopped.
Last Friday, my team connected with dozens of students eager to serve their communities. Big thanks to our intern David for leading a fun “Government Jeopardy” game. Proud to see the next generation step up.
Democrats put forward a bill to keep TSA, FEMA, and other essential agencies funded, but Republicans won’t pass it. They’re blocking critical funding to keep the government running, including paying TSA workers. I am still fighting to make sure they get paid.
Monday’s ruling affirms that science must guide our public health decisions, not politics. I’m grateful to the @ameracadpeds.bsky.social for standing up for our children &for the doctors & experts who keep families informed. We must protect vaccines & keep our kids safe.
Want to know President Trump's priorities? Trump's war with Iran is draining billions of taxpayer dollars. Money is available for an illicit war, but when Americans require food assistance and affordable healthcare, the funding magically disappears.
ICE and CBP were supposed to target the “worst of the worst.” Instead, they’re illegally detaining and deporting our immigrant neighbors and even US citizens. People’s free speech and due process rights are being violated. None of us are safe under Trump’s DHS.
Today is the day; meet me at the Youth Opportunities Fair. Youth of all ages are welcome to explore 60+ different opportunities to kickstart your future. March 14, 2026 from 11 am to 2 pm. Hillcrest High School 17401 S. Pulaski Rd., Country Club Hills, IL
While Trump spends trillions on war abroad, families here can’t afford basic healthcare. He owes the American people answers for endangering our troops and dragging us toward another costly conflict. We can’t fund forever wars while neglecting home.
Breonna Taylor should be alive today. Six years later, her tragic death is still a reminder that racism takes lives. No-knock warrants should be banned. We must pass the Justice for Breonna Taylor Act to help prevent tragedies like this from ever happening again. #sayhername
Food insecurity pushes too many Americans toward cheaper, less nutritious food. The health consequences are real. We spend $1.1T each year treating diet-related diseases. While Trump pushes reckless policies that make it worse, I’m fighting for a bill to prioritize nutritious food and lower costs.
My thoughts are with the residents of Kankakee County and all communities impacted by this week’s tornadoes, high winds, & hail. I’ve been in touch with local officials and will do everything I can to support recovery & rebuilding. We will get through this together.
