Many of us in the Ninth District live near SeaTac Airport, and it’s important that our community is involved in the impacts of aviation paths. There will be town halls in SeaTac, Des Moines, Federal Way, and Burien later this month, but a public comment period is open from now until July 21.

I was proud to secure $1.5M to support the development of the Renton Market and am excited to see the way it will support our small businesses.
It was great to celebrate the ribbon cutting for the City of Renton's Legacy Square, Piazza Park, and Renton Market projects on Saturday. The opening of these projects creates new spaces for community to gather and play, and for the local economy to grow.
His personal wealth is skyrocketing while almost 5 million Americans have dropped their health insurance because of Republican price increases.
It's clear that President Trump cares only for himself, not for his country.
American families have paid an additional $2,500 this year to counterbalance Trump's tariff taxes, while the President made $220 million from stock trades in the first quarter alone.

My statement on the Lebanon War Powers Resolution vote.
I'm committed to protecting the resources we need to end this epidemic.
In the 45 years since HIV has been discovered, we've made remarkable progress. Treatment now allows people living with HIV to achieve viral suppression and live full lives. But this progress depends on sustained funding for research and federal programs.
World Environment Day hits home in WA-09. Families in South Seattle and neighborhoods near SeaTac are breathing polluted air from aviation routes and traffic. This is unacceptable. We’re working with the community to push for cleaner air and a healthier Puget Sound.
I’ve also partnered with Minority Vets to help out LGBTQ+ service members access safe housing. I’ll continue to work with community leaders to provide the support for our LGBTQ+ neighbors.
My office helped invest $500,000 in community project funding to expand their substance use and mental health services.
I’ve been proud to support LGBTQ+ organizations across the Ninth District over the years and wanted to reflect on the world we’ve done this Pride Month. I’ve met with UTOPIA WA and supported their mission of advocating for LGBTQ+ Pacific Islanders in South King County.

We cannot afford a $20+ billion battleship that doesn't meet our defense needs, especially in light of our fiscal reality.

If you don't want to raise taxes, OK, but then get the hell out of here with an over $1 trillion defense budget.

"This is what it would take to raise $250B over 10 yrs. We're increasing the defense budget by $500B this year alone. We're driving ourselves into the ground. We should stop."

We need to rely more on diplomacy and stop starting wars all over the world.

The base text of the FY27 NDAA continues our work to improve the quality of life of service members & mil families. It continues our work on acquisition reform. & it reflects support for partners & allies. The problem starts with the money.
