Great hanging out all day with Sigma Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity at their annual picnic. Took a wonderful picture with the 5000 Role Models brothers. To those Role Models who left early, “Sorry!”
After much pressure from myself and my colleagues, President Trump has released the frozen funds to public schools in South Florida. That’s $45 million for Miami-Dade and $30 million for Broward. As a lifelong educator, I’ll always fight for our public schools and children.
As Epstein resurfaces in the news, don’t forget it was the @miamiherald.com that blew the lid off Epstein’s crimes. Their investigative journalism skills is the reason Epstein was eventually imprisoned.
And so many of us, while riding in the car, are kept up to date on what’s in the news from our historic local WLRN and the always-reliable PBS channels. And for what? To give tax breaks to greedy billionaires who, if they spent 10 million dollars a day for the next 50 years, would still be rich.
We are defunding Sesame Street, programs like Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, and all of the wonderful programming for preschoolers that have shaped generations of ‘little just-wannabe-good-citizens children.’
The last day to apply for our paid fall internship is tomorrow! Make sure to apply now at wilson.house.gov/services/int...
My office is still taking internship applications for the fall in DC and Miami. We’re offering paid Communications and Legislative internships and the deadline to apply is July 15th! If you know any bright minds who should apply, make sure you send them our way!

That’s why, by way of a congressional resolution, I am encouraging members of Congress to visit ICE Detention centers to provide oversight in order to maintain some semblance of dignity and accountability.
For every dollar a white man earns, Black women earn 66 cents. That is unacceptable and it’s about damn time Black women get paid equally. So on this #BlackWomensEqualPayDay, we must recommit ourselves to closing the wage gap.
Congratulations to Miami Schools for another year achieving an A-Rating! Miami-Dade County Public Schools continues to excel and as a former educator, Principal, and Miami-Dade School Board member, nothing makes me happier than to see our schools thrive!

Happy Independence Day! Let us continue the fight for our nation’s values of freedom, justice, and equality—today and every day. Stay safe, South Florida, and have a blessed day. 🇺🇸🎇
This bill is now headed to the President’s desk. I hope voters will remember this day of betrayal. The Democratic Party may not win this battle, but we will win the war. We must continue the fight and heal this nation for the sake of its people. God almighty is on our side.
