The Trump administration is pushing a ban on Black men in the military over "razor bumps"—an attack on both service and identity. Imagine banning redheads over freckles. Black men have served this country since Crispus Attucks, yet this administration continues to erase their contributions.
The recent antisemitic attack in Boulder targeting peaceful activists is absolutely unacceptable. I’m holding those affected and their families in my thoughts. Hatred of any kind has no place in our communities.
104 years ago today, one of the worst acts of racial violence in U.S. history unfolded in Tulsa.
We will never forget.
Congressman Jonathan L. Jackson's statement on the Commutation of Larry Hoover's Federal Sentence
Statement from Congressman Jonathan L. Jackson on the Passing of Congressman Charles B. Rangel.
Five years ago, George Floyd’s murder was a heartbreaking reminder that our justice system is broken.
It’s time for Congress to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act to ensure accountability and make our communities safer. #GeorgeFloydJusticeAct
This Memorial Day, we honor the brave service members who gave their lives in defense of our country.
As we remember their sacrifice, let us not forget where this tradition began.
62 years ago today the African Union was founded. It is a powerful symbol of unity and progress. On #AfricaDay we celebrate the continents rich history and commit to justice and continued partnership.
Earlier this week, I met with the Haitian Ambassador to the U.S., Lionel Delatour, to discuss the current conditions in Haiti and explore ways we can collaborate in support of the Haitian people, as members of the @houseforeign.bsky.social committee.
Today, I had the pleasure of meeting Admiral Juan Ricardo Rozo Obregón of Colombia to discuss strengthening U.S.-Colombia cooperation in the fight against narcotrafficking and transnational criminal organizations.
This legislation threatens to strip millions of Americans of their health care and food assistance. It includes nearly $880 billion in cuts to Medicaid and $300 billion to SNAP, potentially leaving over 13.7 million people without health coverage and nearly 3 million without food assistance.
I voted NO on House Republicans’ big ugly bill.
Trump bullied democratic leaders in Ukraine & South Africa, but praised dictators in Saudi Arabia & El Salvador. That’s not leadership—it’s moral failure. #DemocracyMatters
The Republican budget is a morally bankrupt document that seeks to balance the books on the backs of our most vulnerable citizens – our children, our seniors, and our working families.
The GOP Tax Scam isn't fiscal responsibility—it's snatching food from kids & denying healthcare to seniors in #IL01 & #Chicago to fund tax breaks for the rich. Cuts to SNAP, Medicaid & Medicare would be devastating. I’m fighting to protect YOUR benefits. #ProtectOurCommunity
Rep. Johnathan Jackson brought receipts proving Rubio has abandoned his principles to capitulate to Trump:
Deeply saddened by the passing of my colleague, Rep. Gerry Connolly @connolly.house.gov . A tireless advocate for federal workers, public transit, and good governance, his leadership and dedication inspired us all. Rest in power, Gerry. Your legacy lives on.
House Republicans scheduled a hearing at 1AM, thinking that we wouldn’t show up, so they could sneak through their crooked agenda.
I will stay up to ANY hour to protect American families.
We ride with Congresswoman LaMonica McIver.
