Today in 1775, the Army was established & in 1777, the flag was adopted. As we wish a happy 251st birthday to @usarmy.bsky.social and 249th birthday to the flag, we also honor sacrifices so many made to protect what the “red, white & blue” symbolizes: freedom, hope, & equality at home and abroad.

Before the world heard Dr. King's "I Have a Dream" speech, Bayard Rustin helped make that moment possible.
As an openly gay civil rights strategist and organizer of the 1963 March on Washington, his leadership helped change America.
This #PrideMonth, we honor his legacy. 🏳️🌈
As the DRC & Uganda are grappling with one of the worst Ebola outbreaks in history, @amo.house.gov, @robinkelly.house.gov, & I were joined by 74 of our colleagues to hold this administration to account over their illegal, unnecessary, and cruel cuts to global health and disease prevention programs.
It’s another busy week in Washington, and I will continue to fight for what matters most for IL-01. Want to stay up to date on the issues and events happening in DC and at home? Sign up for my newsletter to receive updates directly to your inbox. jonathanjacksonforms.house.gov/forms/emails...
Honored to join my colleagues, Ambassador Tai, @pcgtw.bsky.social, and @uaw.org to discuss ways we can deliver for working-class people across the industrial Midwest. RSVP to join this important conversation!

Your birth control is your right.
Today, 61 years after #SCOTUS decided Griswold v. Connecticut, RFC Members are fighting harder than ever against Republican attacks on family planning, and we will never stand down.
Donald Trump and House GOP: back off our birth control.
The U.S. - through the generosity of the American people -provided life-saving aid to build long-term solutions to poverty and disease around the world. Rolling this back is cruel, unnecessary, and harms Americans. Great to speak with you @congresswalker.bsky.social
As Haitian Heritage Month ends, I honor the Haitian roots woven into Chicago’s history. Jean Baptiste Point Du Sable- the Father of Chicago- laid the foundation for the vibrant, world-class city we know today. Haitians have long strengthened the cultural, economic, & social fabric of this nation.
Happy Pride Month, IL-01 🏳️🌈! Grateful to stand with the LGBTQ+ community as they celebrate the power of living boldly & authentically. This month honors the progress made in the fight for equality & reminds us of the important work that still lies ahead. Here’s to visibility, joy, & unwavering pride.
Congratulations to the talented Kai Isoke Ali-Landing for admission into Carnegie Hall's 2026 National Youth Orchestra of the United States (NYO-USA)! It is always an honor to highlight accomplished and bright students from #IL01
Wishing a blessed Eid al-Adha to all who are celebrating around the world. May this day of gratitude, sacrifice, and compassion bring peace and unity to our diverse and vibrant communities.
As we approach Memorial Day, I honor the ultimate sacrifice our troops have made and demand we bring them home from this reckless, unconstitutional war.
Dangerous abuse of power- @houserepublicans.bsky.social falling lockstep behind the fraudulent prosecution of the @splcenter.org will have profound consequences for the work toward a multiracial democracy. We won't stop till the promise of the Civil Rights movement becomes a reality for all.
Nearly 4.3 million people were kicked off of SNAP from January 2025 to January 2026. Please join @ilhumanservices.bsky.social, @fooddepository.bsky.social and more on Friday May 22 at 6PM CST for a Town Hall to get your questions answered and find the support you deserve.
This #NationalPoliceWeek, I am thankful for the officers of #IL01 and honor the brave men and women who put on the uniform every day to keep our communities safe.
Last week’s District work period I was honored to visit Silver Cross Hospital and tour the only Level 3 NICU in Will County. One week of honoring nurses is not enough, and I want to express my gratitude for the countless lives these nurses have touched across the region.
Thank you to all the wonderful young artists who participated in the 2026 Congressional Art Competition and congratulations to the winner, Cadence Smorynski, for her phenomenal piece "Mockery"!
Today we celebrate #IL01’s bio, step, foster, adoptive, godmothers, grandmas, aunties, and all who mother with intention. Mothers deserve more than survival — they deserve autonomy, safety, living wages, and real health equity. I’m honoring and fighting for mothers not just today, but every day.
Join me at the Apostolic Church of God tomorrow on Thursday, May 7 for the VOTERS RIGHTS TOWNHALL where I address your concerns about the dangerous Supreme Court decision in Louisiana v. Callais. Doors open at 6:30PM.
In the dead of night, Republicans pushed the 2026 Farm Bill which plants seeds of inequality and calls it reform.
I voted NO on this sham Farm Bill and will continue to fight for robust funding, meaningful policies, and real support for all Americans
