On #Juneteenth, we celebrate the end of slavery in America. But Juneteenth is not just about an end—it’s about a beginning. It's about progress. And while progress has been made, we must work to heal the wounds of racism & build a more just, free and fair country for all.
How refreshing to hear a president talk like an adult.
Obama: Shared values that make democracy possible. A belief that our military and law enforcement owe allegiance not to any president or political party, but to the people and our constitution. A belief in the peaceful transfer of power after the people have spoken in fair and free elections.
Thank you, Mr. President, for reminding us what selfless service, moral leadership, and principled governance looks like. We will never forget your message of hope and change. You and Michelle are an inspiration. America misses you.
Obama: I am not immune to anger or doubt. But I do know this when we lose faith in each other, when we stop believing that voting matters… we open the door to the most ruthless or the most careless, or the most fearful among us who see some groups and some people as more equal than others
Few people do more to fight hunger than my friend Monte Belmonte. His annual 48-mile March for the Food Bank is an incredible contribution to our community & a highlight of my year. Honored to present him the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts’ Community Led Impact Award. He is an inspiration!
I'm proud to announce that I secured $879K in federal funding for Stop It Now!, a Northampton nonprofit fighting to prevent child sexual abuse. Too often, our institutions & people in power fail to protect our children. This lifesaving work matters more than ever.
This conflict never should have happened. Trump lied when he promised no new wars. And after three months of death and destruction, the rest of us are now left paying the price. His war proved only one thing: that diplomacy was the answer all along.
In the end, it looks like Trump negotiated the reopening of a strait that was already open before the war, and reached an agreement no better than the JCPOA—the deal President Obama secured through sustained multilateral negotiations (which Trump tore up because it wasn’t all about him.)
Any move toward diplomacy and away from violence is welcome news. I want peace to prevail. But this war should be a lesson. The push for military adventurism and regime change by neocon war hawks was, unsurprisingly, an unmitigated disaster.
Over 100 days ago, Trump and Netanyahu launched a reckless, illegal war of choice against Iran. America spent a billion dollars a day—exacerbating the affordability crisis at home, putting our troops at risk, and making us less safe.
"A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday—and may every day be another wonderful secret.” —Donald Trump to Jeffrey Epstein
JD VANCE: One of the things you see in the Epstein emails is that Jeffrey Epstein hated Donald Trump NAVARRO: They were best friends for about a decade. And remember, he signed that transparency act under duress
I seem to recall dozens of Republicans promising us this wouldn’t cost taxpayers a cent. Now, they’ll endlessly justify Trump stealing from you to fund another gaudy self-obsessed vanity project.
Huge thanks to Community Servings' David Waters & Tufts University’s Dr. Dariush Mozaffarian for always bringing attention to the importance of nutrition in public health & supporting my bipartisan Medically Tailored Meals legislation. Now is the time to make it happen!
Dreamers have built their lives in America. For many, it’s the only home they’ve ever known. They’ve gone to school, built careers, raised families, paid taxes & strengthened our communities. They deserve citizenship—not deliberate processing delays & unwarranted deportations.
When we invest in early childhood education, we build stronger communities & a brighter future. That's why I'm proud to have delivered $5M in federal funding with @warren.senate.gov & @markey.senate.gov for a new learning center at the #MetroWestYMCA — helping every kid get a fair shot at success!
