I commend the bipartisan leadership of my fellow colleagues and supporters of this critical legislation and this successful initiative to support health care services for everyone in our communities.

I’m energized by the men and women of the @uaw.org and their dedication to organized labor. The divide and conquer mentality will not work if you’re unified or if you have solidarity in the belief that it’s the working class that provides the American dream.
It was a great discussion at Korellis recently in Hammond! I look forward to staying in touch and greatly appreciate your commitment to the skilled trades and invaluable contributions to our regional economy.
I look forward to continuing to collaborate with all stakeholders to protect our communities and bring federal dollars back to our region.
Congratulations to the leaders of Burns Harbor, Gary, Hobart, Michigan City, and Munster on this successful effort to improve our infrastructure and reduce roadway injuries and fatalities throughout Northwest Indiana.

Below is my letter to Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem in opposition to a potential ICE detention facility in Merrillville. mrvan.house.gov/media/press-...
I join Hoosiers across our state in mourning the passing of former U.S. Congressman Lee Hamilton. His service to our nation transcended party lines, leaving a lasting legacy of integrity and bipartisanship in Indiana and beyond.

Spoke on the House floor today to share the deep frustration and anger of the people of IN-01 as they open their heating bills that have skyrocketed this winter.
Spoke on the House floor yesterday to recognize Black History Month and honor Retired Army Sergeant 1st Class Oscar Primm Jr., a 104-year-old veteran from Northwest Indiana whose service is an inspiration to all.
See below the segment from @nbcchicago.com on my Agriculture Advisory Council meeting earlier this week:
As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I welcome this opportunity to listen and incorporate the council’s feedback in my federal policy efforts on issues related to agriculture, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Farm Bill.

Thank you to all of the participants for sharing your time and expertise on this Agriculture Advisory Committee. I believe protecting and advancing the farmer in Northwest Indiana and America is a national security issue.
As we recognize International Holocaust Remembrance Day, let us reaffirm our fight against antisemitism and hatred in all forms.
I thank the Administration, the EPA, the State of Indiana, the East Chicago Waterway Management District, the City of East Chicago, and our local industry partners for their collaboration in addressing the long-standing environmental legacy costs of the Grand Calumet River.
I believe this measure does not do enough or go far enough to respect our Constitutional protections and hold the Administration accountable for its actions.
I just stepped off the floor of the House, where I had a very challenging vote. The Administration’s approach to immigration enforcement is deeply concerning, and I opposed the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations measure today.
Spoke on the House floor today in support of my transportation and housing Community Project Funding requests for Fiscal Year 2026. These are responsible investments that respect taxpayer dollars and deliver real results for working families.
As we recognize Martin Luther King Jr. Day, let us recommit to building on his legacy of bringing people together and creating more equality and economic opportunity for everyone in our communities.
Thank you to Rep. Shreve & my colleagues from the Indiana Congressional delegation for joining this initiative to ensure the members of the Indiana National Guard have the proper support & equipment to perform their essential services to the best of their abilities.
