Really enjoyed attending @aldermanmattmartin.bsky.social's EcoFest this year! From small enviro businesses to lakefront conservationists, events like EcoFest prove that the real work starts at home.
Immigrants make our country a stronger and more interesting place. That’s why I’m continuing to stick up for our immigrant friends. Diversity is our strength — not a weakness.
June is also Immigrant Heritage Month!  Trump’s narrative that immigration detracts from our country is not reality. The free market @cato.org found that immigrants contribute nearly $100k more per capita in taxes compared to the average U.S. citizen.
This week, I had the honor of speaking at the eighth grade graduations of Ravenswood Elementary and Greeley Elementary! Congrats to all the graduates, parents, and teachers this year🎓️
I’m urging my colleagues in the Senate to reject Pulte's nomination. He has zero intelligence or defense experience, and America can not afford another Signalgate-style mishap while we’re at war with Iran.   We can’t let Trump treat our national security and our troops like a joke.
Trump values political litmus tests over our national security—that's why he put Pete Hegseth, Mike Waltz, and Tulsi Gabbard in positions of power. Now, he’s tapping real estate executive and MAGA loyalist Bill Pulte to be the new Director of National Intelligence.
Breaking news: President Trump is appointing Bill Pulte as acting director of national intelligence, tapping a political supporter who heads a federal mortgage regulation agency but has no intelligence experience.
Yesterday, on the first day of Pride month, an appeals court ruled that the military’s trans ban is illegal. Reality has a fitting sense of irony.   To all our transgender servicemembers, we see you, we support you, and we thank you for your service. We will continue to fight for your rights🇺🇸🏳️‍⚧️
As Vice Chair of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, I’m fighting to keep Chicago and other communities safer from gun violence. My TRACE Act would keep Americans safer by repealing restrictions on gun trace data and allowing ATF to track the movement of illegal firearms across state lines.
June is also Caribbean American Heritage Month, a time when we celebrate the generations of Caribbean Americans and their contributions to the American story. Happy Caribbean American Heritage Month!
Happy Pride Month! During #Pride, we celebrate America's LGBTQI+ community and the progress we've made. Today, June 1, is LGBTQI Families Day. As Vice Chair of the @equality.house.gov, I'm fighting to protect every family's right to exist and live freely.
As a member of the @newdems.bsky.social, I want lower costs for the American people. That’s why I support real solutions like extending the ACA tax credits and requiring data centers to pay for their own energy. We must also end Trump’s tariffs & deliver on the refunds promised to consumers.
That's why I'm pushing for real answers on how the administration can stay accountable to Americans and reduce the noise infiltrating our communities.
As Vice Chair of the Quiet Skies Caucus, I have been trying to partner with the @faa.bsky.social on how to reduce airplane noise from interrupting your daily life and harming your health. Unfortunately, the FAA's response on this issue has been neither helpful nor satisfactory.
I had the honor this weekend of celebrating the life and work of Lori Cannon—Chicago's 'AIDS Angel' and longtime LGBTQ+ advocate. The 5500 block of North Broadway in Edgewater is now Lori Cannon Way.
