While ICE is terrorizing communities in NC, Trump continues to bribe local police into performing ICE duties through the 287(g) program.
I introduced the PROTECT Immigration Act with @quigley.house.gov, @mcbride.house.gov, and @jayapal.house.gov to stop this program that endangers communities.
Commissioner Degnen and I enjoyed attending the 47th Ward’s Holiday Senior Luncheon. @aldermanmattmartin.bsky.social knows how to spread some holiday cheer!🎀✨
Every day in Washington, I see Americans protesting for the #EpsteinFiles to be released.
The law we passed in November gave Trump 30 days to release the files to the public. Now, he has 24 hours left.
I'm holding a press conference RIGHT NOW on the PROTECT Immigration Act — a bill to stop Trump from using local police in ICE raids.
Join me and @jayapal.house.gov, @mcbride.house.gov, @foushee.house.gov, @aclu.org, and @immcouncil.org by tuning into the live below.
This administration would rather unleash a second round of terror on working families, than investigate the illegal behavior of past operations.
This is unacceptable.
Earlier this week, I met with the Immigration Committee of Old St. Patrick's Church. We discussed the work they are doing, especially after the wave of ICE raids this fall.
I look forward to continue working together on protecting and welcoming our neighbors!
A white man killed students at Brown University this weekend. A white man trafficked, abused, and threatened over 1,000 girls for years, in connection to very powerful individuals. Should we deport all white men from our country?
This is how extreme you sound.
Donald Trump, Pete Hegseth, and Kristi Noem are allowing hate and racism to infiltrate our military.
They don’t care about Americans, and they don’t care about our servicemembers. They only care about enacting a hateful agenda to further divide us.
A few weeks ago, the Coast Guard said it would stop classifying swastikas and nooses as hate symbols, instead calling them “potentially divisive.” The Trump administration then bent over backwards to call this reporting false.
Now, the racist policy is actually in effect.
We have to fight back — which we can do by supporting organizations like Thresholds that are on the front lines every day.
I just visited @thresholds.bsky.social, which provides housing and mental health care to people in need.
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, Trump is choosing #ScroogePolitics over people.
I’m proud to stand with over 50 Democrats in supporting commonsense solutions to housing, like establishing best practices for zoning and improving our understanding of where units are most available.
Trump is slashing funding for HUD and pushing a preposterous 50-year mortgage plan – all while Americans are living through a nationwide housing crisis. (read more below!)
My bill, the Great Lakes Fishery Research Reauthorization Act, just passed out of the House!🐟🎉
This legislation will keep sea lampreys (the ugly thing eating my head), from leeching onto and killing our fish in Lake Michigan.

U.S. Rep. Quigley (D) says that with Trump's attacks on Hispanic communities across Illinois are facing bigger challenges during the peak of COVID-19.
"If they don't have a good holiday season, Chicago will lose a great number of a key component of our economy: our small businesses."
Instead of fixing our economy and helping Americans, Trump is playing #ScroogePolitics and holding healthcare hostage.

U.S. Rep. Quigley (D) tells WCPT's Joan Esposito that Ebenezer Scrooge from "A Christmas Carol" is less evil than the Republicans that passed health care, food security and housing cuts in the One Big Beautiful Bill.
"Scrooge would blush at what we're seeing here, and at least he was redeemable."
Happy Bill of Rights Day!🇺🇸
On this day in 1791, the United States ratified the first 10 amendments to the Constitution, known as the Bill of Rights. To read our entire Constitution, go to quigley.house.gov/about/united-states-constitution.
Today is the LAST day for Illinois residents to register for health insurance under the ACA, if they want uninterrupted coverage in the new year.
