President Biden’s leadership has been transformative and will be felt for decades to come. I thank him for his commitment, service, and love for this nation.

Joe Biden lowered healthcare costs. The Inflation Reduction Act lowered prescription drug costs & capped insulin costs for seniors. This year, seniors will still reap the benefits of his leadership – Medicare recipients will save thousands w/ the $2,000 cap on prescription drugs.
Joe Biden rebuilt America’s infrastructure. His Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is a once-in-a-generation investment that will quite literally help our communities for decades.
Joe Biden has led the rebuilding of our economy, making it the envy of the world. Biden created:
✅16.6 million new jobs
✅Historic wage growth
✅Decreased inflation to pre-pandemic levels
🧵incoming -> Joe Biden took over the White House in the middle of a pandemic, when our economy was reeling and Americans were desperate to get back to normal life.
🚨🚨 A ceasefire and hostage release deal has been reached between Israel and Hamas.
I'll work with anyone to advance a good idea. That's true of @newdems.bsky.social & it's why I'm so proud to serve as Chair. We're ready to roll our sleeves up, look for commonground & areas of compromise, & get good work done for the American people. www.dailyherald.com/20250111/us-...
I'm at Washington National Cathedral honoring the life of Jimmy Carter. He was a true patriot who served our nation as both a Naval officer & President. Then he went on to further serve our nation and world in deed and by example. May his memory be a blessing. www.chicagotribune.com/2025/01/09/j...
Thinking of folks in Southern California impacted by devastating wildfires. Always grateful for firefighters and law enforcement who are putting their lives on the line to try and protect these communities.
The 119th Congress has begun. Honored to continue to serve the voters of Illinois's 10th congressional district. Let's get to work.
As we rapidly approach the beginning of the 119th Congress, House Republicans must decide who they serve: Donald Trump and the billionaire on his shoulder, or the hardworking men and women who elected them to Congress.
I want to be very clear: Democrats averted what would have been a wholly unnecessary, wasteful, reckless, disaster of a shutdown. Today's CR was not perfect but it was the result of bipartisan negotiation and compromise -- exactly what the American people deserve.
A shutdown means our troops will go without pay, holiday travel will be disrupted & families will go without food assistance.
All because the House GOP is bowing to an unelected, wannabe oligarch.
Democrats & Republicans had a good faith, responsible agreement to fund the government.
Republicans went back on their word. Now we're barreling toward a reckless government shutdown.
