President Trump is now the first U.S. President to officially sign a surrender agreement, made even more of a disgrace by the fact that he unilaterally started this war without the support of Congress or the American people. My full statement.
June is Men’s Health Month and is an important reminder to schedule preventative screenings to support overall well-being and stay healthy. I’ll keep working to expand access to affordable, quality healthcare for every American. 🩺
Today, I led the @housedemocrats.bsky.social in wearing orange to honor Hadiya Pendleton and every life stolen by gun violence. Orange was Hadiya's favorite color, and now, it's a bright beacon for gun violence awareness. We owe survivors more than thoughts & prayers. We owe them action.
Until the President starts treating our national security with the gravity it demands, New Dems will not vote to extend FISA. Statement from Chair @repschneider.bsky.social & National Security Working Group Chair @cisneros.house.gov.
Access to contraception should be a decision made by women and their doctors, not politicians. I signed @repfletcher.bsky.social’s discharge petition to force a House vote on the Right to Contraception Act to protect access to birth control.
Last week, Chair @repschneider.bsky.social spoke to @daniellamicaela.bsky.social with @notus.com about New Dems' American Promise—our plan for how to lower costs, tackle our nation's biggest challenges, and restore Americans' faith in government. Watch their discussion ⬇️

For 76 days, Democrats and I have pushed to fund critical Department of Homeland Security agencies. Every one of those days, House Republicans blocked that funding. Today, they abruptly reversed course and joined Democrats to pass a DHS funding bill.
I am saddened by the passing of my friend and former colleague, Rep. Eliot Engel of New York. He was a steadfast leader who believed deeply in our country and the values that unite us. May his memory be a blessing.
Once again we can all say “good riddance” to Pam Bondi as she heads for the exits. Trump’s cabinet members are little more than a bunch of incompetent sycophants. Sadly, the President has given us no reason to expect an upgrade.
This is your reminder that on Friday House Republicans blocked a bipartisan deal to fund DHS, choosing harmful immigration demands over paying TSA agents and essential workers who’ve gone more than 6 weeks without pay. There was a path to end the shutdown. They chose to sabotage it.
The reports that the US errantly struck a girl's school in Iran are absolutely devastating. I fear this tragedy is not a consequence of the fog of war, but of a reckless rush to war. My statement on the strike:
