Last night, the House passed @wyden.senate.gov’s bill to help fund schools, roads, & more in rural communities. I was proud to join the calls urging Speaker Johnson to pass the Secure Rural Schools Reauthorization Act as quickly as possible. Our rural areas deserve the support they need to thrive.
All @housedemocrats.bsky.social signed a discharge petition to extend Affordable Care Act tax credits for 3 years. If just 4 Republicans join us, the House will be able to pass this potentially lifesaving extension & stop premiums from skyrocketing. To my Republican colleagues: do the right thing.
If I remember correctly, President Trump and Republicans promised they would lower the cost of living 🤔 They lied. Their Big, Ugly Bill and the ill-thought-out tariffs have made life even more expensive for our neighbors. It needs to stop now.
His plan gives zero clarity on how much help specialty crop growers will receive. Once again, Trump is playing divider-in-chief — this time dividing our ag industry. He’s dividing row crops from specialty crops when he should be bringing all of ag together. (2/2)
Republicans seriously don’t care about making your life more affordable… frankly, they think it’s a scam. Instead of discussing real policies to lower the cost of living, they recommend cutting granny out of the gift giving this year to save a few dollars. 🫠 Watch my reaction 👇
I’m proud to co-lead the Specialty Crop & Wine Producer Tariff Relief Act with @mikethompson.house.gov, Rep. Newhouse, Rep. LaMalfa, & @usrepjimmypanetta.bsky.social, so that Congress can step up to help our farmers where the Trump Admin has failed them. (2/2)
As a member of the @newdems.bsky.social, one of my top priorities is making health care more affordable for everyone. That's why I'm proud to support our newly released Health Care Action Plan, a framework for lowering costs and expanding care for all Americans. Read it here ⤵️
I’ll keep championing these projects, pushing for every dollar we can secure, and standing up for our rural communities. Read more about the funding I secured for the City of Carlton below 👇(2/2)
I am proud to have secured $1,000,000 for the City of Carlton to update their sewer infrastructure. For too long, rural communities have been told to make do with less. That’s why, when House Republicans stripped funding for projects like this earlier this year, I fought to restore it. (1/2)
“From 2019 to 2023, NHTSA recorded more than 4,931 deaths in drunk driving traffic crashes during the month of December.” Make sure to plan a ride and drive sober. If you or someone you know is struggling with alcohol, please visit the link below to learn about available help & treatment.
On this day in 1941 — “a date which will live in infamy” — Pearl Harbor was attacked. 84 years later, we honor the unwavering courage of those who fought and remember all those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.
160 years ago today, our nation ratified the 13th Amendment, abolishing the horrific institution of slavery. The 13th Amendment was a defining step toward equality, but our work to build a more just nation continues.
On December 5, 1955, the Montgomery Bus Boycott began — a key moment in the modern Civil Rights Movement. We remember & honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks, & many other civil rights heroes who were part of this momentous boycott in furthering equality & justice for all.
