Kristi Noem may finally be gone – I have been calling for her resignation or firing for months – but I have no doubt that Trump Administration’s chaotic, cruel, and violent immigration enforcement policies will continue unless we stand firm to force desperately needed reforms.
Congress and the American people deserve answers from the President on the war with Iran. Why are we at war? What are the goals? What's the strategy? What's the end game? How will we get Americans in the impacted region out quickly and safely?
My office is closely monitoring the ongoing military action in the Middle East. American citizens currently in the Middle East should follow Department of State advisories and guidance on the latest security alerts issued by the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.
Our Constitution explicitly gives Congress the exclusive power to declare war. The President of the United States is not allowed to take our nation to war without authorization from Congress. Speaker Johnson should immediately call the House back into session. My statement on Iran:
We cannot let up the pressure on the administration when it comes to releasing the full Epstein files. This latest report raises serious concerns about continued obstruction and a potential cover-up. www.npr.org/2026/02/24/n...
Today, I joined my Democratic colleagues outside ICE headquarters to call for the immediate removal of Kristi Noem. She must go. If the President refuses to act, Congress has a responsibility to begin impeachment proceedings.
The bottom line is that DHS & ICE should be focused on securing our borders & keeping hardened criminals out of our communities. Instead they are terrorizing our communities, while targeting hardworking people without regard for their constitutional rights and basic dignity.
I can't in good faith support a funding bill that fails to: ➡️force real change in ICE actions around the US ➡️establish enforceable guardrails around ICE activities going forward ➡️ensure real accountability for leadership w/in ICE & DHS ➡️reestablish proper Congressional oversight
