Trump's attempt to illegally fire Fed Governor Dr. Lisa Cook is a power grab. It's all part of his continued quest to seize control of our central bank.
As the Supreme Court heard Dr. Cook's case today, I joined my @ushousefsc.bsky.social colleagues to stand up for the Fed's independence.
This week, the House is voting on a DHS funding bill.
I will not vote to give a single cent to Trump's ICE.
No blank checks for a rogue agency that terrorizes our communities, escalates violence, and denies people their constitutional rights.
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
Today, we reflect on the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In these deeply challenging times, it's more important than ever for us to build on his life's work and continue the fight for justice, equality, and dignity for all.
It's absolutely outrageous that the DOJ has threatened Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell with a criminal indictment. These threats from Trump represent a total assault on the Fed's independence - something that is critical to the health of our economy. It must end.
Corrupt and baseless. Fed Chair Powell hasn't bent to Trump's will and now the DOJ is out to punish him for it. I'm calling for an end to this sham probe and an immediate investigation into the DOJ's inquiry. Additionally, the Senate must refuse to move any Trump Fed nominee.
I'm calling for the Department of Justice to end this sham probe. Additionally, the Senate shouldn't confirm a new Federal Reserve Chair until this Administration ends this bogus investigation and the legal matter is resolved. 3/3
The independence of the Federal Reserve is paramount. Trying to bend the Federal Reserve to Trump's will sets an incredibly dangerous precedent, and is yet another blow to the stability of our financial system. 2/3
This Administration is targeting the Chair of the Federal Reserve because he continues to set interest rates based on data and facts, rather than what is most politically expedient for Trump. 1/3
Full support. Impeach Kristi Noem.
🚨 The House just approved legislation to extend the ACA tax credits.
Despite Republican leadership's best efforts to block this, Democrats forced a vote.
Now the Senate needs to take action and vote to lower costs for the millions who have seen their premiums skyrocket. Families cannot wait.
Today we're forcing Republicans to vote on an extension of the ACA tax credits.
I urge my colleagues to do the right thing. Join us in preventing millions from losing their health care. Families CANNOT wait.
Enough is enough. This cannot continue. We need an immediate investigation, accountability for this brutality, and for ICE to get out of our streets NOW.
ICE just shot and killed a woman in broad daylight. There’s absolutely no justification for this.
This Administration and ICE are so clearly out of control. They have fired at civilians, terrorized our communities, and now this. www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...
Very sad to hear that my colleague Doug LaMalfa passed away. I am sending my prayers and condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.
Five years ago, a violent mob attacked the Capitol in an attempt to overthrow the results of a free and fair election. Over 140 police officers were injured, lives were lost, and our peaceful transfer of power was put at risk. No amount of whitewashing from the Trump Admin will erase the truth.
We're forcing a vote to save the ACA tax credits and reverse skyrocketing health care costs for millions of families.
Republicans have a choice: keep making life more and more unaffordable or join us in lowering health care costs.
No Congressional approval. No transparency and communication with the American people. This is clearly an act of war, and every member of Congress should be condemning this Administration's attempt to drag us into yet another conflict while sidestepping the Constitution and Congress.
Happy New Year! Wishing you and your family health and happiness in 2026.
